Can Papi knock some sense into Manny? I thought he had more influence over him.
Can someone explain to me what the hell Theo was thinking when he traded Bronson Arroyo for Wily Mo Pena? Pena's a stiff as a fielder and Bronson has more home runs. Everyone knew that Wells wasn't going to last the season... the guy didn't even want to be here... did Theo really think he was going to be a dependable starter? This trade is looking worse than the Bill Lee for Stan Papi trade from three decades ago.
I still contend that Manny looks like what would happen if Goldlocks shacked up with one of the Three Bears and had a kid.
Papi looks like that picture of Roddy Piper from the movie where he says "I have come to chew bubble gum and kick ass, and I'm all out of bubble gum.)
(I'm just saying, boys better watch their asses.)
I agree that it's still early, that Manny will start to hit soon. He'll make some tiny adjustment and all will be well. In the meantime, he's hussling defensively, which is half the battle.
...until he spaces out and throws the ball into the stands thinking it's the third out...with men on...in a tie game.
