Yay Jon Lester! Whoot!
This is indeed fantastic news.
At some point, someone will do a profile of Lester and deal with the cancer and treatment and show him in the dugout, getting pats and hugs from teammates...in slow motion, with piano music in the background. And of course I will get played like Nintendo, and weep like a little girl. Because I'm soft like that.
I was just thinking that the retrospective on the whole thing will turn me into a sobbing puddle of goo. Especially if David Ortiz is involved. Much like the thing ESPN did when it profiled Tedy Bruschi and this little kid from the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Lemme tell you, it is hard to peddle a stationary bike when you're sobbing.
I think everyone should show up opening day with Lester/62 jerseys. I just ordered one from redsox.com. This is baseball but some games are more important.
I do vote for a Lugo/Kapler cage match. I think all sorts of positives would come out of this.
