I can see both sides of the argument, I really didn't think any of them should have gotten the 40k kickback... I mean its a job that requires a lot of travel and its a regular season game which they are paid for, getting per diem for etc... Seems to me like it should be part of the deal.

That being said if they are giving the 40K kickbacks, who deserves it more, Manny Ramirez who makes $20 million or Luis Alicea who is working for tips?

If you want to dub MLB and Selig the worst people since Hitler, you just need to look at what they are doing to the Cape Cod league...

Gravatar I imagine Lowell rallied the troops around this cause with a nice "Si Se Puede" chant.

And yes, world, I love Keith Olbermann.

Gravatar I cannot possibly convey how crazymaking it was to read that this had all been negotiated over a freaking conference call six months ago, and not only did no one even bother with anything basic like emailing notes to the participants afterwards, let alone any sort of formal written agreement, but apparently no one in the months bothered with any questions or confirmations. Nothing in writing! With dollars involved! And affecting many people who were not part of the discussion! @!#&!**#

For once I am grateful to Curt Schilling for his blog, because in his latest entry he says more than once that everyone involved in the negotiations, including him, was at fault for not getting everything down in writing afterwards. That's probably at least slightly reassuring to his video game company employees.

Gravatar Does the Improper usually generate 2 covers? Or is it just in the case of Mike Lowell that they couldn't choose between the finest pix?

Gravatar don't forget, early to bed tonight for the 6 am game!!
