Am I the only one who detects just a slight underlying tone of mania in this post? I have to concur that the Manny/Julian show was freaking hysterical. I love when Don goes into the fits of giggles to the point were he forgets to breathe, let alone call the game.
And were you eavesdropping on my conversation Saturday night? Because we were totally talking about the Willy Mo/ Cerrano connection.
what are you so stressed over about the Red Sox? At least you have a pitcher who can go more than 5 innings and not let the team run away....we have "Sir Sidney" the "Bad luck Benny" of the pitching world....there are little league players who are probably better than he is at this game....he is however a good reason to not want to drink and party....so don't worry about your pitching staff the Twins have the problem (notice how they were the only ones who wanted this egostical, selfish, and incapable person.... so I lived in Boston and I do like the Sox....but now live where the Twins live but that Ponson....Yuck....hope he is gone soon.... thanks for letting me talk about this...bye
My brothers and husband and I were all getting ready to go out to dinner and were about to turn off the TV when we became aware of the Manny/Julian show. We were riveted. Orsillo is the best - and one of my brothers reacted in much the same way, yelling "Stop it!" at the TV. The two of them (Manny and Freddy) are truly batshit crazy (but in a loveable way).
On Clemens: Ho hum. He and Georgie were made for each other.
On Wakefield: Can we in MN ban him from the Dome? Kind of like wine in grocery stores -- all the states around us have it, but we ban it. Our legislature can stop wasting time this year and pass an anti-Wakefield law. We even have a bunch of signs from the channels of Lake Minnetonka that can be used ("No Wake"). He can pitch anywhere but here. OK?
On baseball broadcasters: Remy is a gem. We can almost match him with our own goofball Bert Blyleven, who is like everyone's crazy-funny uncle.

Oh my god, I was losing my shit over Manny and Julian too. HYSTERICAL. Rivals the stretch a few years ago when they were still doing the Friday night games on channel 38 or something and some guy named Dan would come on instead of Eric Frede and tell an INCREDIBLY lame joke that would get Don and Jerry all worked up and laughing so hard they forgot to breathe. I miss those days.

I had to watch the Twins' feed twice over the weekend, and Bert Blyleven had me wanting to shoot myself in the head. At one point, he said something about catching a baserunner sleeping on the basepaths (maybe on Tavarez's pickoff fake to second?), then proceeded to explain that he of course didn't meant literally sleeping. Thanks for clearing that one up, Bert...
