hi! those pictures convinced me to make a pair of those gloves for myself. i'm almost done with the first glove (just have a bit of the thumb and the finishing), and i LOVE it! i never would have taken a second look at the pattern based on the picture on it, but i had to make them after seeing this entry. just wanted to say thanks for the inspiration!

thanks for the travel recommendations, by the way--things got a little crazy just before i left for england so i didn't get to write back, but ryanair was having a great online deal so i decided to dublin instead. i'll save norway for next time

so you think that the marianne isager yarn is scratchy? I thought that the yarn looked like shetland. the very slight rustic look is what works ell with this pattern

Beautiful! The fit is wonderful too. The ends are a pain in gloves aren't they? Although it does help to close up any holes around the fingers...

These are lovely and even if you don't get to wear them too much now, you can almost look forward to the cold. If it wasn't for the ends, I'd be making lots more gloves too, they give me that incredulous pleasure I used to get from socks before they became my 'easy' knitting.
