Drug legalisation may be right or wrong but it definitely does not fall under the heading of Reaganite Conservatism.

You are in the Pauline (as in Ron) tradition of conservatism and are attempting to ascribe your views to Ronald Reagan to gain credibility.

Reagan was a man of his times, and the philosophy can evolve even though he is gone. If you don't think Reagan believed in maximum personal liberty, then you are the one with no idea.
So a position can be 'Reaganite' even though Ronald Reagan explicitly opposed that position because in your opinion it 'evolved' from Reagan's original position?
Does that work both ways? Could a drug prohibitionist argue that Reagan's anti-drug policies justify further restrictions on narcorics? In fact it's completely arbitrary. Reagan represents his own stated opinions and no one else's.
Your position is an appeal to authority - a dishonest one as you would never have acknowledged Reagan's anti-drug policies if I had not pointed them out to you - and nothing else.
Reagan, I'll wager, didn't foresee the spiraling costs and the utter lack of results in said war on drugs. It's been a generation now. People are going to jail for simple possession in the USA. That was not the intent.
Yes, expansion of a basic philosophy is fine.
