See this is the thing, the offense of these cartoons are not just shared by facist fanatics, but also by moderates, liberals, etc (that's if you differentitate between Muslims).
are you positive that you are supporting this because of freedom of speach or to just to insult Islam?
If someone said that the holocaust never happened, Israel should be wipped off the map, and that the USA and the rest of the Western world should be destroyed... and expereicend heat because of it, would you be posting quotes from all of those who share these same views in support of "freedom of speach"??

cya,
In the past all of those things you listed have occurred. And yes, my religious beliefs are ridiculed on a daily basis.
If you don't like the newspaper - cancel the subscription. Etc...
That's the difference. I may get upset/offended...but I've NEVER tried to strip people of their freedom of expression or speech.
I don't like the anti-war protesters, but I would NEVER force them into silence & pass laws restricting the activity of protesting.
The flip side here is that these guys are burning, threatening and demanding laws to prohibit these actions. And have nearly gotten this in Britain.
If you have not heard, Islam is not necessarily concerned with individual freedoms of expression.
Best.

cya,
BTW, other than Mohammed in a cartoon, does anything else about the cartoons I've posted offend you?
That is the big question here.

Had these cartoons been about Christians the MSM would print them ad neauseum. Thank you for standing up to these thugs. They are only offended that such cartoons shine light on the truth of what modern Islamo-facism is all about. If moderate Muslims are offended, they should work to change what their faith has become since it was suppossedly "highjacked" by extremists. Otherwise, their silence remains deafening.

Bravo! Way to go! You just earned a new reader. Now keep up the good work!
Your first commenter (cya) almost made a good point. He/she/it is absolutely right that this sort of thing should unite liberals and conservatives alike.
But then "cya" goes and proves that liberals are generally stupid by finding moral and logical equivalence between a cartoon depicting undeniable truths of modern Islam and idiots who pretend the Holocaust never happened.
No, cya - the world would not be up in arms if a KKK cartoon was silenced. I would hope most people, libs and cons alike, *would* support the KKK's freedom of speech. But the anger wouldn't be there.
The reason, my clueless friend, is pretty simple: hateful, false expressions should perhaps be protected -- but IMPORTANT, truthful comments about one of the most important issues of our day MUST be defended at all costs.
That you can't see the difference speaks volumes of your character.
