One irony here is that the Tibetans could be considered "indigenous people." Compare how Hugo wants "indigenous people" treated in Venezuela, with how they are treated in the PRC.
Gringo missionaries are in the jungle. Hugo gets upset at this "imperialistic" incursion- especially since they might report on the uranium prospecting. The PRC gvt moves millions of ethnic Chinese to Tibet.
In any event, the Han (what the ethnic Chinese call themselves) are if anything, more nationalistic than their government. You will sooner see Hugo kiss Bush's feet than you will see an independent Tibet.
