Do you realize that back when Ted was a freshman at Harvard, that he got expelled for cheating on a Spanish exam? It would appear that he hasn’t spoken much Spanish since then.
I have a very low opinion of the Kennedy clan as a result of my New England childhood. Ted’s obstructing the offshore CapeWind energy project because it might interfere with the view from his mansion and with his sailing simply confirms the view I have had of the Kennedys for years.
That being said, Ted’s singing performance endeared him to me. He was not afraid to make a fool of himself, and as a result, I laughed with him, not at him. You gotta like a guy who can do that. I can imagine that while I do not agree with his politics- someone who wants higher taxes for others but whose family fortune is tax sheltered- that he would be an entertaining person to sit down and have a drink with. Just don't let him drive you anywhere after that drink.
For a guy whose family's fortune was made by bootlegging, what do you expect?
