Kurdish refugees in Kirkuk, Will they ever be allowed to return home ?!
The answer of this question the US knows already, I guess we should ask the US forces In iraq.
US forces are against the return of Kirkuk to Kurdistan and also against the return of the Kurdish refugees to Kirkuk...
I am sure the Americans wouldnt want to see ppl be against them and especially Kurds (Friends of the Mountains),they have to win hearts and minds as they didnt find any WMDs the world had sold to Mr.Hussain!

It would be best to build new housing for the refugees. The new houses should be of a higher standard than the ones they had before.
its really sad the entire world is dancing and screaming for the poor fallujah refugees while cry murder when kurds ask the same thing, any move to even rebuild the cties around kirkuk (remember saddam also changed the geograph and size of the city) is labelled " stirring ethnic tensions" or "reverse ethnic cleansing" or "anti-arab activity" and sti neighbouring countries into "emergency talks"

I guess the KDSP will get some votes from the refugees in Maxmur but wont win seats in the Kurdistan parliament.
Don Cox, you suggest new homes for the kurds which means the invaders can stay in stolen kurdish houses. If the arabic settlers in Kerkuk eventually dont return to their own tents we are accepting Saddams cruel arabization policy.
I don't know the situation myself, but are the Arabs in Kirkuk really at fault? Or were they merely told of cheap housing in beautiful Kurdistan while the Kurds were being kicked out? I think I agree partially with Don Cox...if you get some housing projects done at a good price, then either arabs will move out to them and leave the original houses back to their rightful owners, or the Kurds will move into the new homes. I know it isn't the perfect solution, but if you merely kick out the arabs, then that'll just create another set of refugees out of people who might just be pawns of Saddam when he stole your homes.

the issue is not about a HOUSE,Kurds can live in the mountains,
it is the mere right that our historical land Kurdistan is Arabised by a filthy policy! They are welcome to ask the Iraqi goverment for whatever they lose and better housing in their place where they came from if they have lost any, coz they havent! those were brought in especially and rewarded by bringing them to Arabise Kurdistan!
That is the point! not housing although it is a GREAT ISSUE ITSELF AS WELL!
Housing projects, you would think it was a problem of overcrowding or something. the truth is kirkuk is kurdistan and the land should be returned, the arabs have 24 countries we have none, so we dont want to give one of our biggest cities away to them.
Actually, I expect that, once a Iraqi local govt is in place, the coalition will let that govt make the decisions on refugee return. If the Kurds are the majority in Kirkuk even without the refugees as I've been led to believe, things should change quickly... as long as the Kurds turn out in mass to vote!
The Kurds will eventually return home (to Kirkuk) and all Arab settlers will slowly return to their original regions in south Iraq because they have no roots in Kurdistan . We need to keep the political pressure on Iraqi government and USA. Money handouts to Kurdish political parties like KDP and PUK should not make us make shameful sell out and forget that Kirkuk is an integral part of Kurdistan and we will fight for it.
Refugees in our homes ???, fuck US, UN, muslems & christians combined. Fuck UN & every fucken protestant around the world, shoot these bastards.
