I stumbled on your site in the Rebelution forum, and I have to say that this is such a beautiful poem that speaks so much truth. Thanks for posting it.

I came across your website- don't even remember how now... but I wanted to say that while I think this CAN be true sometimes it is not always true- it was not true for my husband and I.
When we met and got engaged and married, we were both Christians, but Christians living on our own terms- trying to advance in the careers of our own choosing, etc.
Since that time, almost 7 years ago, God has called us back to Himself, called us into missionwork, and we currently live in the 10-40 window and are on fire for Him.
All that to say, it doesn't always happen that He sanctifies both partners before marriage- in fact, marriage is often one of the biggest sanctifiers in a person's life.
Take courage while you're waiting- but at the same time, don't over-idealize what will be an imperfect and struggling relationship, no matter how close to the Lord you are when it starts, and as it continues. No matter how much you are best friends (as we are) and no matter how perfect of a match it is (and we believe ours is)... it still pales in comparison to knowing and loving Him, which was the thrust of the poem. Cheers!

Wow, what a beautiful poem!! How very true those statements are, as I am learning in my very own life! To be completely "His", to be satisfied with my "Husband" (Isaiah 54:5), and to look to Him only as the Love of my life, during this time of singleness.
If I could recommend something, please check out Leslie Ludy's site www.authenticgirl.com, then read the guy knowledge documents under the downloads section! They are worth the time, as Eric (her husband) points us girls to Jesus as the ultimate example of a man! Eric has a wonderful way of putting things, and like I said, it's worth the time.

Thanks so much for posting the website. I've heard of Leslie Ludy somewhere before...but I can't remember where exactly.
