Absolutely!! Modesty is so hard for us gals nowdays, but it can definitely be accomplished! Girls need to know this... so they don't get caught in the trap of immorality.
We certainly don't have control over a guy's thoughts, but if we can dress modestly, it will certainly help him keep his thoughts pure.
It's awesome to find that guys respect you so much more if you dress modestly.
Great post... this is a major issue in today's society... and non-christian, AND us christian girls need to hear it, and keep it fresh in our minds as we dress every day.
I always think, before I dress or shop... "would I feel comfortable walking beside Jesus dressed in these certain shirts or pants?"

I totally agree with you.
Also, to do it yourself is one thing. And then to tell other girls all over the world is something not many people would dare to do. Many girls seem to be quite sensitive to what others say about their clothes.

Just a suggestion: It might be better, if you're building a community of Ladies In Training, to have a blog on LiveJournal, where you can have a real community that's not a forum. For an example, check out Dreamweavers: http://www.livejournal.com/ commu...thedreamweavers

Great post! The only thing I didn't see mentioned was "tight" clothing. Even if a girl is covered from her ankles to her chin, if the clothing is skintight, it's still immodest in my opinion.

Huzzah! Spiffing entry. I absolutely love, admire, and adore what you girls are doing with this blog.
Try as I might, it's hard for even myself (who is labeled as a "nonconformist" and a generally "clueless" person when it comes to fashion) to resist the pull of pretty clothes. Not to say that it's wrong to look nice and/or feminine. There are women, godly women, in the Bible who used their beauty for the "greater good" if you will. But it's never good to make "looking nice/hot/pretty/striking" your main focus, especially if you think it's going to become a stumbling block for yourself or your siblings in Christ.
Thank you so much for posting this!

Alyssa,
Thank you for such openness and honesty on your blog. I am a mom of a 12 year old son. I really appreciate the fact that there are teenage girls out there who are so conscientious about modesty and what the Bible has to say about it.
My husband is teaching my son not to look upon a girl or woman who is dressed immodestly. But it is very hard, even when the girls HIS age are dressing immodestly in clothing that is tight or revealing.
Praise God that you have the courage to take a stand like this. If more girls like you keep spreading the word, I truly believe that a great change can happen. Don't stop what you are doing!
God Bless you.

Excellent post, Alyssa. I have really appreciated the quality of your content and the writing itself.
Would you and Christin be willing to write a guest post for The Rebelution? We'd love for you to write something along the lines of the things you've written here (about spreading the Rebelution in the East, modesty in clothing, etc...) or anything else you feel would benefit our readers.
Let us know... God bless you!

So this is what you guys are up too!!.. hmmm..
It is REALLY nice to read about these things specially when almost all you see on the TV is these girls wearing stuff that can barely cover their bodies. It's a really good slap on the face! Specially the weakness of men are their eyes.. thanks for the shout out!!
Not everyday you encounter views like these!!! Keep it up!!!!! Don't stop!!! Be ALWAYS vigilant!!!

Hi, this is the first time I've been here. I found it from the Rebelution. Thank you so much for your post.I try to dress modestly but so often I forget about the motives in my heart. usually I'm mostly concerned about protecting myself instead of helping my brothers in Christ. Lately I've haven't been really focusing on what I should be wearing as a christian young woman(strength, honor, good works).Your post was an exellent and timely reminder of how I should conduct myself and communicate with others. Thanks for encouraging all of us follow God and seek to be Christlike=)
