I know these beasts and demons all too well ... not as massive and downright sadistic as yours got ... but I learned to make friends with them and walk with them, spend time with them ... we keep each other in check, and remind each other we're there when we tend to forget that fine line between being human and being primal and ancient.

I was never an alkie, or physically violent ... but got to the point everything I did felt mechanical, and I had no conscience ... listening to "death dirges" before I went to work seemed normal ...

I know how you feel .... been there, and still dance on the edge of that blade ...
