Homophobia, racism and animus towards the handicap are appalling behaviors by Lefties when they feel that gays, blacks and handicapped people have failed to tow the Democratic party line. I've blogged on it before, and appreciate (although I am disgusted by the content of) your post on this same subject.

The question is not: "Why is it hypocritical for a Republican to be gay?" The question is: "Why is it hypocritical for gay people to be Republicans?"
The answer is simple: It's because the neoconservative Republican platform upholds the "right" of homophobes to discriminate against gay and lesbian Americans in housing, employment and partnership benefits. Republicans' most unamerican values seek to relegate entire groups of U.S. citizens to second-class status. For Finkelstein to support and promote those values, while reaping the rewards -- marriage rights -- that were won only through the efforts of his political enemies in the Leftist gay civil rights movement is hypocrisy in its purest form.
For years, neocons have shrilly and relentlessly attacked and destroyed those Republicans who don't toe the new politically-correct line. What's good for the goose is good for the gander: Finkelstein is not only a hypocrite of the worst sort, he is a traitor to the gay civil rights movement, and to all those who hold true American values.
