Nice peace about the canal, i am panamanian, and a Globe-watchers as you say. I want to add to your comments on china-taiwan relationship with panama is only comercial, and not a military threat. It is a shame that USA firms (except for DELL) have not capitalize on the massive port and realstate oportunies offered after the 2000 revertion of the Panama Canal. This is where China stepped in and showed us the money, we dont agree that Taiwan is a Roge state, they have a democratic constitution, and deep pockets, that is enough to start business. Mainland china is not happy with our decision to support Taiwan, yet we continue to have business with both of them. They'll just have to get along when they conduct business in latin america, and we hope they'll get along with each other some time soon. There are still many port and land opportinities in Panama, so if USA firms want to get in they should not stall, it is not a Bush decision, it purely economics, who bids the most $$$. US National Security interests should not be a concern, in regards to the ports and airports in Panama, Panama will not negociate with any millitary group anymore, US or China now deal with panamanian civilians to open trade. keep up the good work, i'll send you my blog's link once it is finnished...
