Like I said Laer, the future terrorists will sustain the problem for as long as they can, both to enrich themselves, and to expoit other people.
Like all the other con artists of history, they will be the ones with food and energy, you on the other hand will get jack.
They'll do everything to make the problem worse. Because the greater the problem, the more power they accrue.

I was looking up stop green path north thought I would check out your blurb.
In My opinion.What a sack
Lets start with I grew up in Huntington Beach. What a great place HB and right by the place you talk about.(Smokey's and the preserve) Some people still think so, My immediate family, up to 4th generation now.Where did you say your from?
So you don't think there are enough houses now?Just not crowded enough for you?
You know why the greenies kick ass and will keep kicking ass and never ever let up.Because greed knows no boundaries. Some people are takers some are givers and some just don't give a hoot. I myself, depends on the day.
Now on to the so called Green Path North you really really don't know Jack about that.
First off OC aint gonna get squat from the greenpath nobody does but LADWP. OUCH!
Next there are tranmission corridors that all ready exist they don't want to use them. Why?They don't own them they gotta lease.Less Profit.I am not down on profit .Profits good. Just not at my or any other families expense.
Next. By the time the crap 20th century tech is built solar will be cheaper than coal. thnx Saudi. We are talking less than 5 years MIT TECH review thats hard science. And
I dont mean solar farms that's just another way for corps to control energy .
Every fricken house in So Cal should have panels. There is no energy shortage. When have you not been able to fill your gas tank? leave your lights on?Mr Thats just corporate spreading the fear.Sad thing is too many fall for it. Thats how you cash in!.
Today you can apply the right tech use your energy smart and I don't mean by skimpin. You can live the good life with solar and a turbine throw in some local generated natural gas your good to go.upgrade alway available will be cheaper and faster its like Moore's law Yea I walk the talk and I still game on my fave 22crt.
Green Path North Bottom line is just about the money for the LADWP. I pay my my way. LA can pay theirs.
OH YEA Did I mention I live on Pipes Canyon on the so called green path. Its about my families health and financial well being our overall quality of life. Put those piece of crap towers in my front yard so someone who lives in beverly hills has a portfolio that says green. Yea right. NEVER EVER STOP thats the American way and I like it.
Have a nice Day

Your view of housing is way, way off. Homebuilders operate at profit levels that are normal for American business. They provide a product people want and need because people move, families are created, kids move away, whatever, so the type of shelter needed changes. There is no more greed involved than, say, they guy who runs the local restaurant and sells stuff to people who need it.
Your view of economics is way, way off, too. A good, green friend of mine priced out solar recently and found it had a 14-year payoff. You might buy that if you're buying it for religious reasons, but not if you're buying it for practical reasons. Prices are going down, but the capabilities, capacity and pricing still aren't right. Maybe in five years, like you say, maybe in 15. I remember solar being "just around the corner" in 1978 and now it's 2008. I know; I lost money in a solar stock back then.
The greenway makes sense. But then, so does building new conventional powerplants -- but with people like you around, that's not going to happen.

You assume I don't understand the economics of community development. Are you a Builder? Or some corporate who bought a license and hired a bunch of illegals to bump the profit margins. Who then build 5000 houses in a year without the infrastructure to support it. These are homes with a 20 year life span maybe. Then sell those pieces of crap to some poor soul for 10 times what they are worth. Thats not bitter thats informed.
I have been involved in the building industry my entire life.
Do you have a background or any experience in home and community development? Will the Green Path North have any impact on you and Your families well being?Do you use any renewable power in your home and bizz
I can say yes to all those points
And you?
Do you really Think more power lines will make your energy cheaper
How so?
I would like to clarify That I am NOT against building power plants. I just don't think trashing my investments for yours is equatable. You want a new power plant.Great put it in your front yard.I would not try to stop you.Your neighbors might.Theres the rub.
By the way have you checked the market this morning? Sounds like a 30 percent rate increase for electric my investment just got way better Your buddy might do a little more homework. My thoughts are that the quote he received is close to double what the usual payback would be. He might be rethinking solar now.
My system is already dated two years but still works great and with sky rocketing electric rates. Two more years maybe less and I am looking at near free energy for the next 20 years. My problem is its getting cheaper. Once you install it thats it.You are not going to get get a notice saying price is going up.
Now we do agree renewable is the future. The VC money is going renewable. Sorry you lost in 1979.but Thats almost 30 years ago Tech is a tough one. Especially right now techs moving pretty fast. I forgot my wife has her series 7 and has been a CFP for 30 years. It's helped.
By the way I am not quoting a "Green Friend" I walk the talk.
We live a pretty independent life style. Solar and wind, I use grid to power one half of my shop. Thats a 1200 sqft shop and I am working on eliminating the grid I assembled my current system (more than one)with a 5 year pay back.at this rate I am looking pretty good. Now I happen to live in the optimum location for renewable. It was not an accident. The general consensus is oil is not going to come down. Demand will prevent that. World corps and market manipulators will dictate your lifestyle fine by me.
. I choose another way.
My decisions are based on personal experience and applied science. not second hand.
I am curious to find out why you think conventional power plants are the answer to the current energy situation
thnx,r
