Oh, Laer, don't denigrate yourself. You are one of the most informed, analytical writers on the internet, and a daily must-read for me. I've have occasional bursts of big ideas, but mostly wallow around recycling other people's thoughts (often yours, come to think of it).
By the way, I'm really proud of the Dead Eyes win, because that was my nomination. Teflon Don is an amazing writer, and I hope he keeps blogging now that he's headed home.
Thanks for introducing me to Mr. Teflon. I thought the piece was simply amazing, on a par with the best of Ernie Pyle's work.
(And I wasn't denigrating myself. I am what I am and that's all that I am and I am happy with that.)
