Gravatar Galloway is less guilty of supporting Saddam than many top Americans including Donald Rumsfeld.

Gravatar Galloway supprots Obama because Obama is the least ******* dangerous option for the rest of the huiman race. Do you see? The rest of the world is hoping that you lot will finally put someone in power who isn't likely to become a bload-soaked international war criminal. Do you see?

Your government just now is run by these war crminals and you waste your hot-air on bull*** about Saddam Hussein?

You're deliberately ******* blind to your own guilt by association...

[You're somewhat welcome to post your views here, faceless, but you'll have to do it without profanity and with decorum. This isn't a leftwing hate site.]

Gravatar We supported Saddam against Iran because he was the lesser of two evils. Whether the decision to support him was right or wrong (and it was no different than supporting Stalin in WWII), the evaluation was correct, as has been born out by Iran's continuing to pursue power and mischief even until today. Our support ended as soon as the Iran/Iraq war ended and Saddam's usefulness ended.

Galloways support, unlike the US support, came as Saddam was breaking UN resolutions, failing to cooperate with UN weapons inspectors, stealing from the oil-for-food program, and shooting at planes enforcing the UN-sanctioned no-fly zone. Is this a comparison you're really comfortable making?

You are falling for and repeating propaganda, and propaganda can't stand up to facts.

Gravatar We did not have to support either Saddam or Iran. It was very different from being allied with Stalin in WW II. That was more of an alliance than support, and it was born of necessity, unlike our support for Saddam. If Iran's current behavior continues to validate that policy then why did we overthrow Saddam? He was an effective counterweight to Iran's expanding power. Of course the whole problem could have been avoided in the first place if the U.S hadn't thwarted democracy in Iran with a coup against the elected government of that nation in 1953.

Israel has broken more U.N resolutions than any other country, yet it continues to enjoy the U.S unconditional support. From Equatorial Guinea to Saudi Arabia to Kazakhstan the U.S offers enthusiastic support to many of the most despicable regimes. Despite the rhetoric Saddam was overthrown because he challenged the power of the U.S, not because he abused human rights. Even going with your description of Galloway, your criticism of him is entirely hypocritical unless you also condemn most of the U.S's foreign policy.

Well, you are right about propaganda, it can't stand up in a clash of ideas, however I can assure you that I am very well informed about global affairs in general and the state of things in the Middle East and Africa in particular. Just because I value the suffering of all peoples the same does not mean that I have fallen for propaganda. Actually based on your comments here it is evident that if anyone has swallowed a load of propaganda it has been you. If we are as high and mighty as you say then why do you think the rest of the world hates us? As you said propaganda cannot stand up to the facts, so why don't we debate this out and see just who has fallen for propaganda.

Since you have failed to respond to either of my lengthy comments about Iraq and Israel I'll assume I've won there.

So unless you want to argue those out the score stands at 2-0.

Gravatar The rest of the world doesn't hate us. Just check out the immigration data. People from all over the world want nothing more than to enjoy the freedoms America offers. They give up professional jobs to become taxi drivers and store clerks here, just so their children can live here instead of wherever they came from.

There were demonstrations recently in Georgia with signs asking Bush to throw over their tyrant next. Women in Afghanistan, who were whipped if they wore makeup or showed ankle skin, don't hate America.

The leftist world hates America, of course. Chavez, the EU bureaucracy, the middle east despots -- that's the bunch that hates America. But, thank God, not all the world is leftist.

Gravatar Israel has broken more U.N resolutions than any other country, yet it continues to enjoy the U.S unconditional support.

Of course, Israel also gets more resolutions passed against it than any other country, so look at the resolutions for insight.
- Multiple resolutions to change the status of Jerusalem, which is the historic capital of the nation, won in a defensive war against neighboring, aggressive nations.

A resolution to pay Lebanon for airliners destroyed in a war started by factions in Lebanon.

Resolutions against settlements, which the U N h as no authority to regulate.

Resolutions demanding settlements for "West Bank leaders assassinated" by Israel, i.e., terror group leaders who were carrying out acts of war against Israel.

And on and on. Again, propaganda.

The problem isn't Israel, the problem is a U.N. that sides with Arab states whose diplomatic position is that the solution to this problem is the elimination of Israel. That, in itself, is against the U .N. charter; it is supposed to protect nations, not pass resolutions in support of nations who would destroy the nation of Israel at the first opportunity.

I'm proud of the US for supporting Israel. The only other available position is to support the destruction of Israel.

Gravatar I like to use ****** profanity because it upsets so many right-wing tossers who think that while discussing matters such as American war crimes and mass murder that we should all be ****** polite about it.

It's a ****** irony that will never cease to amaze me.

[It's called decency. I'm not surprised you're amazed; nor am I surprised that you're now banned. Feel free to contact me via my email if you want to vent. Laer]

Gravatar I'm getting ready to the country for a week, so I won't respond to that now accept to say that your response smacks of the arrogance and ignorance of imperialism. It is that attitude that has caused the collapse of nearly every superpower and which could contribute to the downfall of our own nation.

Gravatar America isn't Imperialist. We don't hold on to the lands we fight for ... other than, occasionally, small plots on which to bury our dead.

Gravatar What has caused the destruction of civilization is barbarians in league with corrupt and decadent revolutonary fools and fanatics.

Gravatar The UN passed a resolution for Peacekeepers to get free sex on women and girl children.

I'm not sure violating UN Resolutions is all that evil.
