Check out this piece in the Sacramento Bee, contrasting Obama and McCain:

Of particular interest is this line:
"Three passions seem to be dominant so far this year, and all offer advantages to Obama: ending the Iraq war, restoring a sense of economic security and ousting the Republican Party from the White House."
Forgive me if I don't quite believe that Republicans share that third passion on the level that the Sac Bee writer would have us believe.

Here's another one, Laer. It's AP, so quote it at your own risk. The headline is "Obama braces for race-based ads"

There has yet to be a purely race-based ad, (e.g. Obama is black, do not vote for him). The closest they can come is the NC ad that decried J. Wright for his racist attitudes (i.e. the ad was anti-racism). They also mention the vendor whose silly "will they still call it the White House?" slogan was immediately denounced by the Texas GOP.
Yet Obama is still bracing for attacks from a party of racists who would rather hang a black man than run against him.
At least that's the implication.
