Unity punch will never taste the same again

So will we be seeing Gilly at the summer of love?

That's a nice single eyebrow going on there, very Medirteranian.

Liberals to the left of me, Grassroots to the right here i am...

I remember a particular Australian Liberal Students Federation conference in Canberra a few years ago when a former Victorian Liberal MP received counselling from a particular Liberal student....

Gravatar Ah... Didn't a certain Mr. Rayner really want that posotion too??

Gravatar more loony lefties , where else can they
try and hide

Gravatar too bad NOLS couldn't control their splitters, or else we wouldn't be having this discussion...

Gravatar As the mail out said, the liberals did camden a favour in keeping him out of office - not only will he stay more aerodynamic, but landing "glamazon" isn't such a bad thing.

Gravatar Is Matthew Chuk just Michael De Bryun in disguise?

I'm sure if he "parts" his eye brow, dyes his hair blonde and blow dries it he would look just like De Bryun (junior).

Gravatar Surreal; unity and NLS dancing together singing 'this is what democracy looks like, that is what hypocrisy looks like'.

One distraught Liberal insisted that the higher orders came from none other than Brian Loughnane. Death from above for student unity.

One particularly feral ANU student should not escape the OC's attention- Toby Halligan. Aside from accusing everyone in the right and left of being corrupt, evil, criminal and so on, Halligan- a member of the ALP- is a violent little indie fuck who somehow managed to get both Labor factions and pretty much everyone else to hate him.

No mention of the NLC in your article Andy? Nor a recitation of Howard's advice- in this case for mdb- that you can't fatten the pig on market day?

Going to be an interesting few weeks in unity land. Will Cam run for Welfare? What lies in store for mdb? How much will NLS fuck Chuk on nat exec? The left will surely have to fuck the trots now at every opportunity on every campus to prevent this from happening again.

Gravatar The point is really that it shouldn't have come down to the liberal votes- unity should've been home and hosed, and weren't owing to you know who.

Gravatar its interesting to see how stupid the trots and indies are. the ALSF want to destroy NUS, and support both the trots and indies with their votes, and the trots and indies STILL think they are the best to control the union? laughable!

this will be the last year of NUS with woodchukk in charge of the cash flow.

Gravatar Heya all,
Good to see that none of the unity folks are feeling bitter about losing gen sec. I like the phrase feral, it suits NUS. By the way Andrew, you forgot to mention in the wonderfully bias piece on NUS that the liberals were also being approach by Unity and NLS, with offers of multiple executive positions. Probably also worth noting that while Chuk refused to talk to the libs unity was courting them like nothing else. Course I don't expect facts to get in the way of a good whine.....

Gravatar Who gives an eff about student politics.

Gravatar Not at Worlds, Toby? How unfortunate you're not further away from us. Canada would be a VERY good start, and a milieu more compatible with your rather nuanced views.

Toby, you're the one who, the weekend following NUS, told anyone who would listen- and plenty who didn't care or know what on earth you were on about- that you, personally, had 'destroyed' unity.

But you can't be the real Toby- you're far too measured for that. I'm sure you'd have threatened all and sundry with violence or accused everyone who reads this august publication of corruption, graft, and crimes against humanity if you were Toby.

Gravatar At no point did I ever threaten anyone with violence. That's an outright lie and the fact that you have to make stuff up perhaps suggests that your out of genuine rebuttal. My criticisms were focussed on one for one being anti-democratic and unaccountable (which it is) and the last unity gen sec who, most of unity conceded was crap at his job and let the union down in a myriad of ways. Hell I can start naming unity folks I talked to who agreed michael was shit.

Finally I didn't actually say I'd destroyed unity or claimed personal responsibility for it in anyway. If anyone deserves that credit its Chuk, for being awesome. Yet again it's nice to see you have the guts to stick your name to another inaccurate, hypocritical post. Keep up the good work 'anonymous'.

I understand you don't like me because you were certain I was on "your side" but the fact that i'm associated with Labor federally doesn't mean that my point of view is always going to coincide with yours. I suspect your heads a bit too deep in the trough for rational discussion, but thought i'd throw it out there that ultimately our goals are the same - a stronger union working for students. I of course don't expect anything but bile back.

Gravatar name them scum
