I sincerely hope the OC Patriots won't be outraged if there is any violence at the Big Day Out like the type that occurred at Cronulla last year...

I sincerely hope the lemon sucking Australia haters at the Aged and the ABC aren't outraged if there is any Lebanese gang related violence at the BDO this year. You know, like the type that has been happening in Sydney FOR YEARS and which has been routinely ignored by the powers that be as they suckle the dry saggy tit of multi-cult political correctness.

Don't be such a communist Andrew. It's a private enterprise, and so long as they stay within the law they can order their affairs however they like.

What sort of a dick takes a flag to a rock concert? Its not Australia versus the world.
It would be just like Landeryou to wave a flag in the face of someone trying to enjoy the show. Out of touch loser.

That looks like Diane Anderson in the middle of the picture. She is an American. What is she doing with the Australian flag?

James makes a fair point, Andrew. The government shouldn't control everything. Although James should be aware that the private enterprisers at BDO receive significant government handouts. Perhaps if they're going to ban the Australian flag, they should ban all signs and flags and banners. It's not Mardi Gras for Chrissakes.

"Big Day Out patrons were intimidated and harassed at the Sydney event on Australia Day 2006 by bigoted fans brandishing flags and demanding people pledge their allegiance."
Sounds nice doesn't it. I wonder why they wouldn't want to add to that...

No one's being communist, James. These are only express opinions. Or are you against free press? Joking.

Well what about freedom of expression. Maybe we do need a bill of rights after all.
They wouldn't try that shit in Victoria would they; I mean they have a bill of rights in Victoria just for such things.

I am organising to show my true feelings about Australia by burning a full sized Australian Flag on Australia Day.
I am trying to get the Australian Flag printed on toilet paper as well.
I will email you my website that hopefully will be up soon.

Slanderyou, you stupid wanker, you should always check your sources.
First, BDO did NOT ban the flag as you gleefully suggest, they 'simply discourag[ed] its use for anti-social purposes at the Big Day Out…..'
Go check their website at: http://www.bigdayout.com/news/
pr...essReleaseId=27
As for The Oz providing honest reporting on the Democrats (yes, plural) position, that's as realistic as asking Hilaly to say something rational about the Middle East.
Go check Democrat Senator Andrew Bartlett's blog, where he makes a hell of a lot more sense than your unchecked secondary sourced (you did do 1st year history didn't you?) misinformed prejudiced views at:
http://www.andrewbartlett.com/bl...=1295#more-
1295
Finally, as the BDO organisers themselves said:
"...the media reports yesterday were not quoted accurately and we must thank the participating media for wasting everybody's time including the Prime Minister John Howard, Premier Morris Iemma, NSW RSL President Don Rowe, Keysar Trad (a confidant of the Mufti Sheik Taj el-Dene Elhilaly) and Burt Lane of the Australian National Flag Association...”
Could be talking direct to you, mate.

You are fat, old and out of touch, Landeryou. You obviously don't go to concerts very often, do you? Sad git.
I for one don't want some pissed wanker shoving a dirty flag in my face and demanding that I kiss it. That isn't patriotism, it's thuggery.
And I also don't want idiot kids waving flags around so that I can't see the stage - I'm there for the music, not to blather on about how much I "love" my country.
Oh, and - get your facts straight, idiot. Flags haven't been banned. The organisers are simply discouraging people from bringing them.
"Game on"?
Do you realise how lame you are ?

teh australian Flag sucks. its time we adopted a new flag. One that represents Asutralia and not the Southern British outpost. The new flag MUST maintain the southern cross and I think it would be just as acceoptable to also have a stylish kangaroo as a symbol of our nation.
until Australia adopts a new flag All the flag is worth is as a cheap gift to overseas visitors that know no better. ITS TUNME AUSTRALIA FIOLLOWED CANADA'S LEAD AND GOT A NEW DESIGN. A NEW FLAG. John Howard is just beating a Nationalist drum hoping it will resonate him back into a fifth term.
Time for a new flag |
