The Michael Kroger /Peter Costello agenda is to shut down the Young Libs, get rid of the Central Council of Women's Sections and get rid of branches. They want only one branch per Federal seat. They also want to introduce proporional representation to internal elections. Why? With all this in place ( supported by all the Kroger/Costello State Council candidates) , the job of manipulating the party would be so much easier! Kroger and Costello are less interested in the Liberals then they are in just sheer, ruthless, selfish power. And this type of ruthlessness is what we would see from Peter Costello as a Prime Minister. As a Liberal, I could never vote for Peter Costello even though I live in Higgins!
Whilst not necessarily a fan of everything Costello and Kroger do, they have my complete support in getting rid of Central Soviet of Women's Sections and the YLs are two very positive moves.
I love the Women's Section; they have many great recruits.
I have recurited top quality into the Women's Section, and I am not even a women.

Don't underestimate the imporatnce of the Women's Sections, they cook great cakes.
The Women's Section has given the Liberal Party many a dud on both sides of the factional divide.

Sweep the Women's Sections away. We already have mandated gender equality for state council and policy assembly, so there is no need for a womyn's mafia. If groups of like-minded Liberal women wish to get together for various purposes, that's their business, but don't keep it enshrined in the constitution.
The thugs of the Kroger /Costello faction run the show...and the women of the central council see through this. No wonder they want to wipe them out.Why get rid of them...they don't have delegates to pre-selections ? She has considerable notoriety in the United States, as she is the first person ever to be expelled for heresy from the Unitarian Universalist Church. Young Liberals are wankers. The real strength of the Liberals in terms of their youth is in the Liberal Students.
I for one find that Liberal Students are more intellectually stimulating and ensure members can more freely discuss issues and policies.

The History of the Young Liberal Ball:
In 2001 police were called in to break up a fight, only to be re-called after someone decided to throw a chair into someone else.
In 2002 the special bonus of the night were threats from someone we shall call Conrad.
In 2003 the aftermath included drunks smashing shop windows and then attacking a taxi (and the driver).
In 2004 the theme was fire as spirits and flames made for an interesting mix, with tables being set on fire while ice was pelted across the room.
In 2005 it ended in a brawl in which Inga Paulich claims she "jumped in" (might explain the tsunami in India).
In 2006 Bruce Atkinson was MC and was riding high thinking the libs would win the election and that he'd keep his front-bench spot.
It keeps getting worse and worse, going on history 2007's ball will be a disaster.

Indeed. Since Honeypot, DH Doyle and I left Parliament I fear there are no gentlemen left.
It is very sad for the State of Victoria.
The YLs need to be rescued from the users and abusers of power in the Libral Party . In recent years, The Melbourne University Liberal Club ( right wing nutters) have taken control of the YLs; before that it was Emanuelle Cichiello and Conrad Xanthos.
Michael Kroger wants to shut down the movement and flood Liberal Students into the party at large.( God help us all).
The Party needs to re-built the YLs but start first by releasing the Coughlin Report ( Helen Kroger's lazy ass is still sitting on it).
I know a guy who tried to re-boot a Young Liberal Branch in Vic and was strung along for a year while the Executive tried to think of excuses to put it off. He was even told by HQ not to bother as it would never be approved. So much for the largest Provicial City in Victoria. No wonder Corio is shot.

The guy trying to re-boot the YL branch was so concerned, he dumped 20 members (including his parents and 2 siblings) into 1 branch, and attempted to call an unconstitutional committee meeting to get them in. Trying to get state council votes for his political pimp. Only 3 of the 20 have ever shown up for a branch meeting, ever. Despite the fact their President is only 25 himself. NOTE: The current President was the last President of the Geelong YL's, before killing it and moving his current branch (which was inactive), and has taken it over with other former Geelong YL's.
