The OC // Andrew Landeryou's Blog of Freedom

What a pity we no longer have Bruce Ruxton, a thoroughly decent man, to fight our causes.

Bruce now lives in Queensland, is not well, and we wish him a long life. We love you Bruce.

Also we love the OC. This expose of Garrie Hutchison is brilliant. Who do we have to fight our causes now we don't have Bruce Ruxton? The OC of course.

Well done Andrew.

Gravatar That wanker ought to hang his head in shame. I presume he means the 15th Brigade, of the North Vietnamese army?

Gravatar Bruce Ruxton yeah!
I just flushed something much better than Bruce down the latrine.

Gravatar The draft was wrong then and now, all volunteer militaries work best. With that said his support for the viet cong is beyond disgusting, and does not fit with his position.

Gravatar What else can you expect from this government that is only interested in jobs for mates and feathering nests even if they are unqualified, incompetent and in this case totally wrong for the position

Gravatar Andrew

WHO GAVE HIM THE JOB?

WHAT DOES HIS CV SAY?

SOMEONE SHOULD RELEASE THE INFO

WHOSE MATE IS HE?

HIS VC IS NOT THE SAME AS OUR VC

Gravatar I wore a Mao badge at Puckapunyal, and ostentatiously read a magazine called 'Australian Atrocities in Vietnam (from the East Wind bookshop in Elizabeth Street). It was fun stirring up the training corporals...

We could understand guys like Garrie. Some of them were genuinely anti-war. The indifference of the population was hard to take though.

Eventually, I resent the thought of Garrie getting any of my tax dollars. Give back the dosh, Garrie, and fug off back to England!

Gravatar Truly, Andrew, Thank you! How would a brother, sister or parent [of a serviceman on duty in Vietnam] feel with traitors sending money to the enemy, to help it kill our sons? [These people have not answered for their betrayals, nor have they been called to account, yet. But I bet they support the nazi-hunt.] The normal cost of treason is death. Our craven cowards of political bosses, the Lib/CP cabinet, also betrayed our men by their inaction. [BTW, as I understand it, no Australian served in Vietnam against his ultimate wish: Were not conscripts given a choice before embarkation. opted out?] "Truth will out" -and Vale, Alexander Solzhenitsin.

Gravatar **I wore a Mao badge at Puckapunyal***

Uh huh.

If that was true, it would have required surgical removal, from your backside.

Gravatar Old Ruxton is not going to be around for much longer with his failing health and that is a GREAT thing.

Gravatar Byron in Wahroonga (Andrew): Yes, it was a small, red Mao badge, worn on my beret and elsewhere. Since you weren't there and didn't go to Vietnam, you wouldn't have a clue! The great thing about the Australian military forces is that indiscipline is sometimes tolerated with humour and a look the other way. Your world of political war games is pretty tame by comparison.

Separately, I watched ABC's Foreign Correspondent tonight. If your Blog originated in Italy you'd be a licensed journalist with attendant responsibilities. Your endless hate blog about Les Twentyman would have earned you a big, fat jail term.

Bruce Ruxton has my humble vet vote too!

Gravatar Cossie is my most favoutie MP ever!

Gravatar Actually, Andrew, you've really pissed me off big time. In my first post I deliberately gave some info that only recruits at Puckapunyal from the Vietnam era would know. I was in a late intake, having been given permission to take up a journalist job in NZ. Those of us who were a bit older than normal recruits behaved badly (I now agree), but it was likely we were given a lot of leeway too.

You therefore have as little knowledge of what it was like to be a 'Nasho' in the late 60s and early 70s as does Garrie Hutchison. You have clumsily intruded into what is really our private business. You, like Garrie Hutchison, are not welcome there.

Gravatar ***The great thing about the Australian military forces is that indiscipline is sometimes tolerated with humour***

No soldier would find your wearing a Communist badge, while our army was fighting the Communists. So shut your stupid lying gob. I hope that one day scum like you will be prosecuted in the courts, as they are in the USA:

http://www.stolenvalor.com/

Gravatar No soldier would find your wearing a Communist badge **amusing**

Gravatar (Whisper): Just give me your address you piece of sh*t.

Gravatar Oooh. The 'whisper' certainly adds menace, to your scarily intimidating post!

He he he.

Gravatar Andrew, you are a nihilist know-all. The ADF wouldn't have you, so don't worry about jetting off to Costa Rica if compulsory service is ever resurrected.

Gravatar I'd like an apology in person from this bloke.

Gravatar No more posts here boys. You know where to go. 9RAR mems have this in hand. Former MP is doing recce 4us, A midnight run up Tit hill has been suggested plus a bit of abseiling maybe.

Gravatar I'm told this site

Gravatar Oh dear...

Gravatar But Andrew, have you forgiven yourself for gleefully watching Simon Townsend's Wonder World?

That Woodrow the Wonder Dog was a real patriot.

Gravatar When I was a Nasho, the MPs knew where AWOLs were and waited until their nasho time was nearly up before nabbing them. Most ended up doing the full two years. The MPs always got their man but had trouble finding one bloke. It took four months to get him. I reckon finding you would be a absolute cinch, Andy!

Gravatar I see from another place, that you have been 'scoped'. This means you have either been sighted or that your location now is known. The report stated you were difficult to locate for reasons that were listed. As a stalker yourself, you would realise that various impediments exist to track people who don't want to be identified. You are contactable, apparently, but not in ways that don't leave a trail. That's all I have to say, and won't be returning here again.

Gravatar My father died a hero fighting for this country, and all his friends and mates didnt come back either. They were in the army prior to the Vietname war and were told to go wether they wanted to or not. How dare this hypocrit represent the fallen and the brave for a cause he fought against. If my father was alive today, I know he would have liked to thump this gutless, con artist. The governemnt should be ashamed of themselves for appointing this poor excuse for a decent man. Obviously respect for the dead, fallen and living comrades who fought this war mean nothing to him or the government. What an insult and disgrace the goverment is for this. If I ever bumped into this creature, I would verbally give it to him as I am a respectful person to the service performed by our soldiers for our country wether they wanted to be there, or support that war or NOT!!!
Have some respect Garrie!!!!!

Gravatar If this is true about this guy,I hope for his sake that I for one do not come across him at any function, as only one of us will be leaving I must state that is not a threat in any way,"yet"

Gravatar I realize cancer spreads far and wide but this garrie fella takes the cake; while we in the 'colonies' had a President who was also a draft dodger, not to mention prominent hollywood stars.

I say, get the tar and feathers ready my Aussie Brothers, drum this slimeball out of Australia...the feathers'll help him 'fly the coop' one more time.

Gravatar As a Vietnam Veteran I am shocked and disgusted by the Victorian Govt employing 'traitor hutchison' as its 'veterans heritage officer'. This only shows what contempt the politicians still show towards Vietnam Veterans.

Hutchison is a person who supported the enemy and actively compaigned against Australia and is now spreading his bile to our children as he coordinates the 'Spirit of ANZAC Schools Competition. The Diggers buried at Gallipoli must be rolling in their graves!

The Vic Premier MUST dismiss this evil man immediately! He should be stripped of his passport and deported in the same way as that other traitor Wilfred Burchett'.

Gravatar Premier of Victoria, are you a proud Australian supporting the men and women of the forces, past and present?

I assume you are, therefore I ask you, man to man, to remove this obnoxious fellow from the position he is most unfitted for in any official government role to do with the veteran community.

ex 7RAR 1970-71

Gravatar Premier Brumby,

Give Garrie Hutchison the Royal Order of the Boot!

Gravatar The Vewnews blog (associated with this blog) has an article which calls Garrie Hutchison a 'Hero'. My advice to those as angry as me is to 'phone your local State MP and let him/her know what you think about Garrie representing Vets and getting paid out of public funds.

Gravatar This grub shoud be wiped ot

Gravatar Ah another gutless wonder and draft dodger just like Simon Townsend and the bastard gets rewarded for being a coward.

Phuck him.

Gravatar While john kerry remains a US Senator after 'filming' his own escapades, calling all who served in Nam 'baby killiers', 'rapists' and killers of innocent civilians. He also met with representatives of the NVA and VC in Paris(illegaly)while still an active duty Naval Officer...their audacity knows no bounds.

Gravatar Jane Fonda and Garrie Hutchison, what great bedfellows, thank God they didn't copulate and produce offspring together..As a Vietnam Veteran 1967 and 1971/72 I was harassed by some anti war protesters and will never forget or forgive the slag on my face from one of these vermin. Victoria, Mr Brumby, you don't need this bloke to represent us! It looks too much like an insult to Vietnam and all Veterans who fought, died, were maimed and suffered so you could have the freedom to be in the positions you are now hold, although I guess had the other side won, you may still be premier only under a different banner. In the end the Lord will judge you for what you are, I hope I am on the Jury Panel!

Gravatar What was the idiotic public service selection panel thinking?!!

They should get the sack - and the departmental fat cat who signed off on Garrie's job too!

Vomitus!

Gravatar Victorian government historian and veterans heritage officer Garrie Hutchison told reporters at the Shrine of Remembrance on 31 July 2008 that the WWI battle of Fromelles "was the single-most terrible 24 hours in the nation's history".

"It is also one of the most important chapters and we need to remember and find the soldiers and bury them with the honour they deserve".

No-one doubts the tragic central importance of Fromelles. But few military or academic historians would entirely agree with the broad sweep of Hutchison's remarks. If they had any doubt that Garrie Hutchison was a nong, read what he told reporters next:

"A benign side of Adolf Hitler was that his Bavarian regiment was involved, so those records were kept".

Hmmnn. Hitler served in France and Belgium as a runner for the 16th Bavarian Reserve Regiment which exposed him to enemy fire. He drew cartoons and instructional drawings for the army newspaper. Corporal Hitler was wounded, gassed, and received military awards.

He was hardly in a position to be 'benign' towards the Aussies who fell at Fromelles. He was not the keeper of the regiment's records, nor had the authority to have their burials recorded.

Garrie Hutchison's scholarship as a military historian is rather questionable. Despite this, he accompanied the ten students who won the Victorian Premier's Spirit of ANZAC award, to Greece.

It is hardly in the Spirit of ANZAC that a draft dodger is in any way involved in Veterans' Heritage - or involved in educating future generations.

Gravatar The Victorian Department of Planning and Community Development - employer of draft dodger Garrie Hutchison - looks like the replacement for the expensively useless Department of Victorian Communities, which has been consigned to history's scrapheap. But the new department of prosperous public servants now includes the Veterans Unit.

The Premier of Victoria, John Brumby MP, is the Minister for Veterans’ Affairs and is responsible for veterans’ issues at the State level. The Premier provides Victorian ex-servicemen and women with a clear and prominent voice in Government. The Veterans Unit in the Department of Planning and Community Development has been established to centralise operational activities across Government and support the Premier in this role. Tony Robinson MP, Minister Assisting the Premier on Veterans Affairs, assists the Premier on matters relating to Veterans’ Affairs.

So where does draft dodger Garrie Hutchison fit in this picture of providing veterans with 'a clear and prominent voice in government'.

The Veterans Unit 'commemorates, honours and supports veterans in Victoria through a range or initiatives that promote understanding of the service tendered by veterans in war and peace'.

What the hell does all this meaningless drivel mean????

As a Vet, I've never heard of these idiots before. I'm not sure I want anything to do with them now, having explored their poor website.

Gravatar This is exactly the type of perverse government appointment that certain Labor figures delight in. You know what I mean, like appointing a confessed Republican as Governor or Governor General. It's often meant as a deliberate show of contempt for average Australians (in this case, for Australian soldiers) and the values, culture and institutions they cherish.

Gravatar No surprises that the ALP would make such a disgusting and inappropriate appointment.

It was Gough, afterall, that gave back traitor Wilfred Burchett his passport.

The ALP and the radical left are the one and the same.

Bring back the Libs.

Gravatar Dear Anon, 1.31,
from above, "Our craven cowards of political bosses, the Lib/CP cabinet, also betrayed our men by their inaction". The Libs, with honorable exceptions, were and are a moral vacuum. Only the DLP stood [to their cost] firmly by our men and their families. [Let's not forget the despicable unions' sabotage too, "Punch a Postie on Return" and all that]. BTW, all the huffing and puffing on this thread is just that, until you organise legitimate ACTION to build a better Australia,.

Gravatar Gerry: You can't build a better Australia if you dishonour the past!

Gravatar Gerry: You can't build a better Australia if you dishonour the past!

Gravatar Gerry: You can't build a better Australia by dishonouring the past.

Gravatar Gerry: You can't build a better Australia by dishonouring the past.

Gravatar Gerry - get off the drugs.

Gravatar Sincerely sorry, but I don't understand. How can truth dishonor the past?

Gravatar Screw Garrie Hutchison the spinless prick. He is not fit to represent Veterans.

Gravatar Gerry: Go and have a conversation with yourself somewhere else.

Garrie Hutchison: Hang your head in shame. Resign. None of the Vet Associations want anything to do with you. You've just become supernumary.

Gravatar How do we get this piece of garbage sent back to England ? He obviously likes it better there. If he won't defend this country he shouldn't be allowed to live here. Send him anywhere but here, and Fonda with him.
