Well, there's also the fact that solar panels use a huge amount of energy to create and that it takes an extraordinarily long time for a solar panel to offset the initial energy input in it's creation.
That and greens tend to be the filthiest people ever, proud of their thirty year old van blowing black smoke down freeway and total lack of conscious when it comes to vandalising the environment with the constant abuse of aerosol cans to mask their pungent odor.

the wired article you linked to noted that this myth about the hummer/prius thing has been quickly and completely debunked. Slate have done the same thing. Propagating this nonsense is a disgrace. I know most of your readers aren't bright enough to do more than hold their nose and point at "lefties," and I know you are are VERY busy obsessing over the minutiae of factional brawls, but the science is clear: climate change is real. If it were just YOU drowning, it would be fine. As it isn't, please shut up or get informed.
