The Ferguson group are likely going to demand another spot in Parliament, which would open the way for a local councillor Anthony Carbines to take the preselection.
But if Unity want to keep the seat then Noah Carroll, Matt Carrick would be more likely substitutes for Craig Langdon.
Other names from Unity that are being associated with the plum preselection for Ivanhoe include Roland Lindell, Garth Head and Janet Murphy.
In any event, there's going to be one more superannuate from Ivanhoe in 2010.
