I was listening the 774 just after the 1pm news when Deveny was introduced. I could not reach for the off control fast enough. My thought on reflection was, the ABC occasionally worries about being perceived as biased and left-wing.
And then, to confirm the nay-sayers are right on the money, they give a whacko extremist like Deveny a microphone. It defies parody. She's the distaff side of Phillip Adams.
As painful as filthy, leftist, Philby Adams is, he is not stupid - whereas Deveny is simply a moron.
Not only is she a moron, she is a bigot. She has become the thing that she despises the most.
Deveny does not seem to have a wedding ring on. Looks like that out of a city of 4 million, she couldn't find any men willing to take her on.
She is, on her own admission, rank and smelly, so it is not surprising.

Deveny is a shock jock for the other side. She makes money from saying things that irritate conservatives. Why does she say those things? Because she probably believes them but I repeat she makes money from irritating conservative.
Deveny plays a similar role to Bolt at the Hun. They rub sticks together to make fire. The more people who gather around to cheer or jeer the better.
That's it. Next time I see Deveny crossing Sydney Road on her bread shop tour, I'm locking the hubs of my 4WD and will fix the problem.
Is this the same person who writes the article on the back page of the weekend liftout? Which is generally about TV. If so she is hilarious.
It seems to be so to me and I think that people are jumping to some far out conclusions, as her articles appear to be tongue in cheek and I am not sure she is looking to be taken seriously. Which is obvious by the name of her publications.
I read one of the articles you are referring to, ie One Nation and you have some how made out that she is racist. I think the point of the article was that it is the Liberal Party who are the racist, ie One Nation supporters will go there.
I dont know if she shares these views but I take her articles for what they are, silly, nonsense tongue in cheek.
Perhaps other should also read them as such, as surely we dont wish to loose our sense of humour.
And no doubt as normal some privately educated wanker will comment on my spelling, get over it.

It seems ironic that ms deveny can be jeered at and examined by the standard of a political editorial, for making weekly commentry ,that is for all intensive purposes a light hearted, observational opinion piece.
Not meant to do anything more than please those who share her views that their opinion has some air time
in the public space,

whilst pissing off those who her readers abhore most .
