I think you need some evidence to back up your claims here. If you had a young offender with no priors and a good chance of rehabilitation going before a magistrate for attacking police after a night out at a strip club... I think that would get a suspended sentence....

No, no, no. To make a meaningful analysis, you've got to compare apples with apples.
We're talking about a large terrifying group of people, with masks, acting in a pre-meditated fashion and acting in concert to attack the Police in a group, including with weapons.
I say again, if that had happened outside a strip-club or in a neo-Nazi protest, the treatment would have been very different.
And that's what I have a problem with.
The next full-on violent protest involving leftists should have all Victorians gravely concerned about the safety of members of the Victoria Police. A magistrate has let those involved in attacking Police loose on our streets, with a fine.
That's a problem we should all be gravely concerned about.

***going before a magistrate for attacking police after a night out at a strip club***
A one hundred per cent wrong analogy. The offenders *planned* to attack police.
Between PC prats like Nixon, and airheads like Sarah Dawes, being a Victorian police officer must be a nightmare, these days.

are you really the person to speak of the "notoriously corrupt melbourne uni student union?"
They were thugs- but you did a lot more damage to the union than their behaviour did

Jorm had been known to be a bit of a loon for some time - he was up in Sydney about 7 years ago, going off his bipolar medication then getting on the booze. Great combination.
Anyway, his family got him cleaned up, he lost a stack of weight, moved down to Melbourne for the BoM job then no doubt through the influence of his radical left wing sister (I'm surprised she wasn't mentioned in this whole thing; maybe she's still in Canberra) got caught up in this whole thing.
This is probably the first time he's been in front of the law for anything he's done, but he's definitely a Mr "Me Too" once the crowd he's with gets going.
Anyway, the record's going to follow him around now, so what a fine return on his philosophical investment...

Will we be seeing more posts on your fear of masks, Andrew? I hope it wasn't at night, too. Start your campaign to stop Halloween now. Although that would be anti-American and you don't want to be seen to give air to those thorns.

Don't worry Andrew, I'm sure the boys in blue know where these people live to settle up at a more convenient time.

Hulls has pandered to left wing for too long as we are all paying the price with soft cock sentences. What a joke.

Ban Riots and Protests I say.
Make it illegal. Sack anyone that takes a day off work to protest. There were always protesters outside Nike in Bourke Street Mall, many of them wore Nike shoes themselves....shows you the hypocrisy of them.....generally not very bright arts students tag along also.....
