Yes, there will be winners and losers in a post-carbon trading world. And, yes, energy workers will have re-trained (and I suspect that the CFMEU have many, many more members affected by this).
What is evident, except to climate sceptics, is that the cost of doing nothing is much more savage and cruel than taking measures now.
This global warming scare will go down as one of the biggest scams in human history. I hope the climate panic mongers are prepared for the backlash, it wont be pretty.

He ain't a skeptic. He knows climate change is real.
But he's got his head screwed on.
He knows it we change everything to be green we will have done f*ck all for the global environment 'cause we are such small fish.
But we will have also f*cked out nation from an economic and social point of view.
Meanwhile the really big polluters of the globe, who at the moment are planning to do zip on climate change, will continue on their merry way in China, India, USA etc etc... and steal our employers, steal our jobs, and undermine our economic security, and in turn undermine our society and democracy.
Let's be rational and level-headed as we go forward on this important change for our nation.
