What a mess!
I'm very much against a factional war of his scale - it has not been caused by a couple of young punks but by Ted's actions and statements since the blog was mad public.
He is the one who declared war in very emotive terms, despite for almost a month knowing about the blog, having access to hundreds of personal emails and being involved in the sacking of Morgan & Osborn.
His over-reaction and leaking of the emails to the press shows a complete lack of judgement, not to mention his failure to gain the moral high ground. My view is the leaking of the emails is far worse morally than setting up a blog - and Ted is 54 not 24 ! He should know better.
The party is now in chaos - Ted is the one to blame - he must go, and go soon.

Shardey is gone. (Bring on disco Dave!!!)
Wells is in serious trouble but may survive if he is still Shadow Treasurer.
Davis will survive as his personnel support is too strong hence why he was number 1 on the ticket last time.
Ted will survive however he may choose to resign if he looses the leadership at which point it will be on for young and old and then Frydenberg will become very relevant.
That's it in a nutshell.

Today's parliamentary question time in Canberra showed the Libs in total meltdown. Given the heaven sent gift of Kev having done everything he could on petrol, they stuffed up and coudn't score a point.
Of course, none of the political parties want to interfere with the petrol excise tax. That's one hell of a huge Milch Cow!

Nearly a month down the track, Ted's still the Boss. Whether or not his handling of the traitors' website was appropriate is just a matter of opinion now. Get on with the job Ted. Cleanse the cesspool of disloyalty. It's time for a fresh start without the sneaky traitors. By the way, has Turkey Muddler spoken up to support you yet?

C'mon all this crap is hard to take.
All the piss and wind being generated by the likes of Kroger (Mr & Ms), Ronaldson, Fifield and Ryan is taxing at times. We need to eliminate these mischevious and trecherous people from our Party and get on with winning goverment in Victoria (btw did you see the MYKI ticket blow costs to $1.3 billion and deleivery date sometime after the 2010 election.....!!!!)
The Feds will be fucked until at least 2016 and the way back is defintely through the States with leaders like Ted.
Pricks like Helen Kroger need to get the carrot out of their arse, piss off out of our Party and get back to selling salami at the local delli.

The facts are that a month ago the State Liberal Party was sailing along smoothly.
A lot of the factional tension was going away, especially with David Kemp's ascendancy (and some key allies), the coalition with the Nats and Tony Nutt's appointment.
Kroger and Costello fading away.
There was a lot of cross factional support or at least acceptance for Ted. Kemp had organised IPA support for policy developmet and fund raising initiatives were being put in place.
Ted's absolute declaration of war after the blogger episode was made public has changed everything. Why did he decide the time time was right for WWIII? He could have chosen to play the whole issue down - no he has to go against the whole of Admin, the whole Senate Team (except Troeth), lot's of staffers, any 104 staff still employed, all those ex liberal students (most of the part's youth wing, and unamaned but numerous Sate MPs. Why did he compromise his own integrity by leaking personal emails? WHy Why Why???
The State ALP Govt is on the run and Ted chooses to use the blog episode to purge out all "disloyal cancerous elements". Again why?
Since the controversy has Ted phoned Admin members or fed MPs or State MPs he doesn't think are involved and exempted them form purge? No not one.
In aother words he has allowed everyone who is not absolutely his closest supporter to think that they are on the list to be purged - not just a few youngsters who went too far and desreved to be sacked (no one disagrees with that).
Sorry Ted, I was one of your supporters though I suspect you never knew that - you time is up, for the sake of the party and Victoria please resign.

I suspect Blue Ted is and never was a supporter of Ted.
He along with all the other trecherous and mischevious people should simply leave the Party and go and do some work for another voluntary organisation. I understand Rotary and the Lions clubs are always looking for people.
Lets get Ted and his coallition tema elected to goovern our State in Novemeber 2010. Either you are with us or agin' us. If you are agin' us just fuck off.

Luke,
I was in fact a supporter of Ted - at least I believed he was the best choice for State leader and that he was worthy of support. I thought I knew some of his limitations but recent events have blown me away.
Luke, I hope I can persuade you that you are wrong re Ted.
Ted has declared war against almost everyone. Speak to MPs, admin members etc - has Ted phoned them to reassure them that they are not on his target list. The answer is no. These people are naturally pissed and will fight back.
This alone is incredibly stupid - he now has 19 members of Admin, numerous State & Fed MPs etc etc against him - true many of these may not have been enthusiastic supporters but at least they were not active oponents. How stupid.
Has Ted or Tony Nutt produced any evidence that anyone who has been shaving for more than 5 years is involved in the blog site - anyone senior? No and the reason why is that these young guys acted pretty much alone.
Does Ted think he can become Premier when he can't even win over people in his own party?
Luke can you tell me that he has majority party support? - you must be joking!!!
I thought Ted had a chance but he has blown it big time.
Luke, appreciate your rebuttal (especially on what he has done in the last 2 weeks to defuse the situation).

Dear State Lib MPs
I know you are reading this blog site - everyone in the Liberal party who is everyone is.
You know that Ted's leadership is terminally damagaed by his own actions. He is not cutting through to the public and he has turned the party against him.
Your federal colleauges think you are too relaxed about being in opposition. Not hungry enough. Do you really want to be out of Govt until 2114?
We should be putting the fight to Labor, not inflaming internal party frictions which will always exist. Brumby should be in trouble - it needs some policies and a consistent approcah and a leader who can wil over opponents not create opponents from his own party.
It will be hard but you know what needs to be done.

I agree with you Blue Ted that Ted is probably damaged beyond repair - mostly though not entirely self inflicted - I don't feel particularly sorry for him.
Terry Mulder is not the only possible leader - there are several others who should or could put their hand up.
My number 1 tip is Louise Asher - she's a Ted supporter but if Ted fell on his sword, which is becoming likely, she wouldn't be a bad choice.
At least she is pragnatic and has an ability to talk to people across factions - she wouldn't have declared open war on the Kroger-Costello people.
Andrew McIntosh would be a safe pair of hands but there are probably others. Labor is so on the nose that a hardworking nice guy would have a fair chance of getting up as Premier, though Louise is my first choice.
Kim Wells, though a failure as Shadow Treasurer, might be a show - I think he would do better as a leader than most would expect.
I don't think Michael O'brien is there yet - though he can't be ruled out.
Actually Peter Ryan is the best polly on our side - is there a way he could be leader despite being in the minority party?

Blue Ted must be Blind Freddie in disguise. His political commentry is absurd, laughable nonsense! If, as he says, Terry Muddler is the only alternative, we're all in very serious, perhaps terminal, trouble.
Terry, as has been pointed out often over the past three weeks, has remained silent rather than supporting Ted. This is proof, one would think, of gross treachery. That ominous silence continues today.
Blue Ted is critical of Ted's handling of the extent and depth of the website treachery. What on earth could Ted do when faced by this sort of disloyalty? Sit tight and do nothing? Get real you idiot! He had to act! He has to root out the rogue element. Despite shrill voices like your's, the party is gathering behind Ted. You are becoming increasingly isolated.

Support for Ted is now absolutely mandatory after three of the most disasterous weeks in Lib history in Victoria. No alternative leader has emerged meanwhile.
The disaster continues to grow. It's the theory of chaos gone mad. Libs need to get a choke hold on themselves and get behind Ted now.

What can the political parties do to help with the petrol crisis?
1. They can uncouple from the crazy Singapore Price. We don't get get Singapore wages. Why pay Singapose petrol prices here? We should be paying Australian prices.
2. Get rid of the petrol excise tax altogether. This is a disgraceful rort.
3. Where are all the taxes going? I pay income tax. I pay all the hundreds of hidden, indirect taxes that gst was supposed to replace. But then I pay the gst anyway. Just another tax. Politicians are greedy tax gluttons.

As if this was ever going to be an issue? She is getting on.
Replacing her with non-Ministerial material is probably not a great move, however much a great guy Disco Dave is.
And I'm sure David Davis will have something to say, considering he tried like buggery to get Southwick above Coote on the ticket in 2006.
