Kemp's support is stronger than you think.
Kemp has 90% support of the Admin Committee - this is not so much factional as personal. In particular his 3 key hand picked men, Tony Snell, Rod Nockles and Julian Glynn, are true believers and will fight to the death for him.
He also has a much wider support base than either faction, though most are old K-C types.

Quelle affaire! The power and the immediacy of an addictive blog, not just Ted Must Go but the OC too. Newspapers these days are basically relegated to reporting Net news to those who aren't online- which is quite a development. The undeniable eveidence of Red Ted's incompetence is that he had so much time and so many options to deal with it, and STILL it blew up, in his face. If Ted can't manage his own backyard, imagine how ineffective he'd be in a real crisis?

Your so-called senior Kroger operative has got 1 important fact wrong.
It was not Kemp or even Sheezel who leaked the personal emails to the Age - it was of course Ted Baillieu or at least his office.
Sheezel (approved by Kemp?) gave Ted a stack of emails to stop Ted going even more crazy - a sign that Party HQ was on his side. There appears to be no intention by JS for these to be leaked. The great tall one had these emails for several weeks and released them to attempt to prove his case of a wider conspiracy.
These is no doubt that Sheezel (and Kemp?) erred in giving access to these emails to TB given how unstable that man is.
So far Baillieu, apart from a very contrite 24 year old, has been totally unable to prove that anyone of real significance was behind the anti-Ted blog or other subversive thought crimes. All the big talk is just that.
Kemp now has a real problem. He presumably is trying to calm everyone down while satisfying Ted's wish for some big heads to roll. Meanwhile, the anger over the gross over-reaction by TB to the blog episode and the leaking of the emails is growing daily.
Kemp has a hard job but I doubt he will come out of this badly.

Osborn is truly a 'lionheart'. The way he ambushed Ted Baillieu on 3AW, put down Susan Chandler and turned the political tables will become Liberal Party folk law. He says today in the Australian that he 'will fight any attempt to expel him from the party'. I'd love to know what he has in store for Dead Ted.

What an absolute cargo ship full of Quokka poo!!!
He married Sue Mariner, and thenceforth was supported by the MASSIVE Mariner fortune and network.
Self made man indeed. Such rot. He married into it all, and if he had'nt would not be where he is today - let alone tommorrow.

How is this for a theory:
former Kroger cave-man Jason Aldslessthanworthy is running against the Cheezel for Higgins. JA wants to defeat the Cheezel at any price (no reference to the booze hound intended). JA works in a den of ALP patriots and Liberal coodabeens at CPR and he leaks the story of Osbourne and Morgan's sacking a month ago and it finds its way to the OC.
Red Ted's office - principally, Mr Israel, the booze hound and D.Davis, become aware of it and leak it themselves in a mad attempt belief that since it was already bad why not make it worse and kill their factional foes. Of course never realising that Susie Chandler had been at her foul mouthed best sent the guy she had been spying on an anti semitic email.
The other truly weird thing about the Liberal implosion is that the majority of the senior participants all used to be on the same side - the Kroger team. The extend to which they all became jeffistas or 'progressives' has more to do with wanting to differentiate themselves from the kroger loyalists who they had become disillusioned with rather and who they had been sleeping with at the time than any real ideas.
There are so many ironies - Red Ted used to be their hate figure from when Ted was Kroger's vice president.
Red Ted's supporters fell out with the other Krogerites because they felt that others wouldnt share power. This is the latest eruption of a petty decade long incestuous spat by people who mainly are in politics because its a 'buzz'rather than to actually believing in anything or wanting to achieve anything.
Name nearly any Red Ted supporter from the paranoid nutter himself down and most used to be perfectly content to bask in the light of Kroger's aura!

Don't worry there is plenty on chatter going on within the party, business cirles and supporter groups about Ted's recent lunatic behaviour.
Forget about raising money for them. Julian Glynn must be crazy with despair.
Ted is definitely the number one target of most liberals, regardless of whether they are in a faction.
Surely it's time for David Davis to cut a deal with Terry Mulder, Kemp, other Admin types. Sure he'll never win over Helen Kroger or Ronno but does that really matter? Davis has a reputation of being able to cut such a deal and it might be the key circuit breaker required to consolidate his upper house role and an important step in winning government.
We could be at a criical point.

The best thing to happen would be to hang out the dead carcasses of the 2 Senators in waiting, Kroger and Ryan. As they have not been sworn in this is still possible to do.
Getting at Ronno would be easy too as his pre-selection is soon.

Brendan Nelson's performance during the budget reply was abysmal, embarrassing and irrelevant. What a total dill he is. Looking around the posts to this blog, there is a very strong case for getting rid of all politicians, their parasites and the two party system. These people are tax addicts. The Federal petrol tax is 50 cents a litre (incl. GST). I've already paid income tax. My last fill (at Singapore prices) sent $19 to Canberra, and that's twice a week. Thats a tax bill approaching an extra $2000 a year. Are these people for real. The five cent reduction promised by Brendan is just an insult.

The Westminster system was supposed to be what set us apart from the savages. But, like most other things, it getting very out of date. Howard's loyalty to his Ministers led to further blurring of the lines. Under Westminster, they should have been sacked on the spot. Let's see how the Rudd mob turns out.

Julie Bishop should concentrate on radio interviews rather than TV for obvious reasons. Don't get me wrong, she is a clever lady. But Liberalism today is faltering. Only the very best face of it should ever be presented.
That applies to the present appalling stoush in Victoria too.

A really smart interim leadership solution here would be to schedule an immediate conference in Darwin (or somehwere equally far away) so that the Victorian disintegration can be thashed out in private. No mobiles. No internet access. Just talk it out 'mano e mano'. Don'y comeback till its all fixed.

Depressed: Are you Mad?
Most Libs in Victoria don't want to fix this. They want to gang up on Ted. They just don't realise a change won't and can't work. Putting a new face on tired, disfunctional policies, is just prolonging the agony. Fix the policies, and Ted will do just fine!

I'm watching Parliamentary Question Time on ABC-TV with Mad Mal Turnbull and Shrek frothing away. Tony Abbott is still missing. Maybe, he's going though rubbish bins and dumpsters for a feed.
These were lamentable performances at Federal level- for Libs and Labor. But there is a message in all this for Victorian Libs. You are uselss too!
Ted needs to come down hard on his shaky 'mates'. Squish them big time, Ted. Don't muck around. Get rid of that disloyal swill. At the end of the day, if they go, your chances for election as Premier can only improve.
