Bernie Finn our upper house MP a campaign manager for a Federal Campaign???You've got to be joking. Finn is getting paid by Parliament of Victoria to represent his region , not to moonlight as a campaign manager for a Federal candidate.
The Upper house should conduct an investigation into any MP who is spending his or her time running or working for a Federal Candidate or MP whilst not having leave from the parliament.

Are there any other examples of State or Federal MPs of any political persuasion managing or working for a Federal Candidate or MP ( with the exception of those working for their own re-election?) Come on - we need an expose!

Cumm off it; Labor have EO's galore from state + feds working for them; alongside unionists and office workers by the plenty. And as for "Fearless bernie"; he was the best drive time presenter that radio 3ak ever had. Remember?

Lib MP's working for others; Good. Reminds me of Labor bussing in 300 unionists to walk the streets of Deakin and other seats, "poll-pushing" for Labor candidates. No wonder you write under the pen-name of "ANON"; typical coward. If U truly believe wot U say, put UR bloody real name to it.

FACTS: Di Livett lives in Ashburton - a Labor conclave; she was born and grew up in the Nth-West (Keilor) and has had almost a lifetime of involvement and commitment to that and adjoining oft-neglected areas. (Neglected particularly by Labor who take their votes there for granted). She is an outstanding lady, who has "the average worker's experience of the viscittudes of life, thru all the ups and downs" and should poll better than anyone else the Libs could ever put up. Perhaps one day she may even be given a safe seat - here's hoping; not only she, but the community deserves it. Add that devoted liberal THE FINNSTER to the mix, and One can guarantee that it will be a lively campaign, with the real queations being asked of voters. Or, to put it another way; no voter there will be left to die wondering about what the real issues to vote on are. Go Di; GO!!!

Fotina, wot a load of shit. U and all UR Labor + union hack mates are the ones who should explain why they continue to receive salaries while working for 10 months on end for Labor candidates. Working whilst their pay is often drawn from the contributions of genuine workers who don't, haven't or ever wont to vote for the ALP.
UR one of those who still belong to an outdated tribal group that pays that great big fat and under-worked polka-dotted bugger Joan Kirner a small fortune to "work" 3 days or so a week peddling lies and re-writing history about Labor;s involvement in community and regional issues right throughout the state; all the while presumably still drawing on that very fat parliamentary pension.
Sp ple e e e e se don't give us that carp about "high Labor morals and principals".
Perhaps Andrew could actually look in to and report on these items for us "as a matter of strong public interest". Or would this FOTINA (or whoever he/she/it really is) prefer an Upper House Parliamentary Committee to so do. I await any reply with considerable interest.
FOR THE RECORD: Di Livett has been involved in community affairs and services as a volunteer for well over 30 years that I know of. Having raised a family through times good and tough; she has lived the rough path of life that some of us know, and is uniquely positioned to represent surburban families in parliament. (I agree with the previous posting; pity that she wasn't pre-selected in a safe seat a few years ago; she would have been an outstanding community representative). Not only the Libs., but democracy and the electors of Calwell actually gain from this.

Id have to agree with Fotina - this 'mp' was elected to represent the people of the west, not to use his position for a little bit of personal gain.....and to help out a 'mate' who happens to be the chairwoman of the electorate council and his branch president......

Bernie Finn/Insider,
Have the guts to put your name to your veiled self defense. The difference is that you are on the public purse. Unions and Labor hacks or staffers ( as I seem to be accused of being) are not!
A world of difference- may I suggest!

PS For Labor staffers I do not mean Labor MP staffers but those employed by the Labor Party.
