Gurm might be popular but he was lazy and distracted with family matters. His time was up, it's not Greg's fault the members were sick of Gurm's many other priorities.

Green-on-Green violence. Oh happy day! At least the Stalinists won't be sending the vanquished to Kolyma, like they did in the old days.

Interesting that the daily newspapers have missed out on reporting the story, and it is a good story.
Well done Andy.

Barber has learnt what I have been saying for years. "There's only one thing a hippy understands: THE STICK!! AND PLENTY OF IT.

Nothing new in Green-on-Green violence, but you're wrong about it being started by hippies.
In the late '70s the eastern-bloc communists bankrolled the new Green Party through Petra Kelly, a politically well-connected left wing ideologue who made other extreme left ideologues look moderate. When her 'companion' (an ex-Germany army general with his own bizarre political predilections) found out, he topped them both.
Pity he didn't finish the rest of them while he was at it.

The Greens are more political than the larger political parties. More nastier too. Wait to see what the three Greens MLCs will do to hold on to their seats. People are leaving the Greens in droves.

Barber is de Stalin of the Greens.
Lets no forget his back stabbing on Melbourne's David Risstrom and his push came to shove in order to have his family member preselected to the senate. Thankfully his greed backfired and the Greens lost a chance to be part of the Victorian Senate representation.

I am happy to be accused of prioritising my family, whether it’s my children or my parents. My father suffered a series of strokes while undergoing heart surgery on the same day my daughter was born in August 2006. He was left unable to see, speak or move any part of his body at all. It has been a long hard road to recovery in the nearly two years since then. With intensive support from my brother and I, along with both our young families, and especially from my mother (who is nearly 80 years of age herself), my father has regained his sight and speech and much mobility but it will still be a long time before he can walk again, if ever.
When things like this come along in your life, you tend to re-assess your priorities.
I have enjoyed my six or seven years on Yarra City Council. Four more years would be a great privilege. However, it’s hardly the most important thing in life. I make no apologies whatsoever for prioritising my family.
Not everyone gets to play at centre half-forward every game. I am and always will be a team player and am happy to support new players wanting to have a go on the forward lines. You will notice that, although I’m not the “lead” candidate for the 2008 Yarra City Council elections, I’m still an endorsed Greens candidate for Nicholls Ward. I’ll give it a red hot go from the wing. Even if, as has been suggested, I end up taking a spell on the bench, I don’t think my playing days are over just yet.

What Barber did to Risstrom to install his latte sipping brother in law as the Greens senate candidate is a disgrace !! His day of days will come and when it does, l want to be seated in the front row as his tumbril rolls up!!
