I agree that Julian Sheezel had little or no qualfications for the job of state directos apart form having kissed Michael Kroger and Peter Costello's behinds. His pre-selection hope will be dashed when he adds another loss to his name.
There will be a lot of people who will have great pleasure in running him out of town.
And David Kemp...fancy destroying his good name on a bunch of self serving and incompetent people like Sheezel. In fact, Kemp is looking more like Rasputin every day.
Sheezel's great achievement was running a losing campaign for Kats in Monash in 2002, who was running against a pro-Palestinian candidate in the most Jewish LC seat in the state.

To be fair to Sheezel MLC candidates and their campaign managers had very little ability to direclty effect the outcome of their elections under the old 4 lower house seats to a province system, and even less ability under the 11 lower house seats to a region system.
Katz lost in 2002 with a great deal of others suffering from the effects of a combination of Napthine/Doyle/Dean.

State Director possie fetches around 130K I think. Its not bad considering what they do but after winging of the financial costs of running campaigns in Albert Park and Williamstown, this pay check could have covered the two seats quite easliy.
