The establishment of NDH in 1941 (Nazi Croatia) was the first independant croatian state since the 11th century. Croatians celebrate the NDH not because it`s Nazi, but because it freed Croatia from a long line of Serbian, Hungarian, Austrian, Italian rule and oppression. Without NDH there would be no independant Croatia today and ther probably would not even be a Croatian culture any longer. Croatians in WW2 had the option of joining the Russian communists and remaining under the rule of Serbia - OR - they could join the Nazis and have their own state. Simple choice - Facism and independance or Communism and slavery.
The jewish community would like you to believe it`s as simple as Croatians are evil Nazi's. That`s like me saying Jews invaded and stole Palestinaian land and slaughtered hundreds of thousands and expelled millions. We all know that it isnt that simple. Is it ???
But when I see the Jewish community portraying the Croatian community in this DISHONEST and DECEITFUL way, then I start to think that maybe the Palestinians might have some truth in their arguments....
No Lizi. There are no Israeli concentration camps on the scale of Jasenovac. Regardless of any romantic notions of loyalty, it was a nasty brutal and eveil regime, that disenfranchised and murdered minorities with no regard for the rule of law. Israel, despite its faults, does not do that - look at decisions of the Israeli Supreme Court and also the fact that Palestinians have a far higher standard of living according to the UN Human Development Index than Arabs in neighbouring coutnries like Syria and Egypt. Your attempted comparison is poorly founded.

It wasn't independent: it was a puppet state established by the Axis powers in order to help them assimilate (what had been) the Kingdom of Yugoslavia. It didn't have control of its own territory, let alone its foreign policy and borders.

It was A. Hitler's birthday yesterday and what did the news cover but the funeral of a communist come fascist who will only be remembered for standing on a tank, being tanked and groping a tank top while sucking on a yank.
Not one Croatian I`ve ever met has denied that the Ustasha committed some terrible attrocities against Jews and Serbs. We've always acknowledged and regretted that. But what the fluck else do Jews want us to do ? Slash our wrists ? The NDH saved Croatian culture from being exterminated by Serbocommunism. Fact. And that`s why most Croatians love the NDH and celebrate it, while regretting the evils committed by the Ustasha. As for this krap about NDH being a pupped sate etc. It`s funny how Serbs and Jews on one hand say it was a Nazi run puppet state when it suits them, but them again when it suits them, they say it was Croatian run state and an expression of Croatian culture !! which is it !! Nazi puppett or Croatian !! haha

I used to believe that the 1930s Palestine partition plan by England was amazingly fair to all. I used to believe that the creation of Israel was fair and the Jews did not committ mass murder and ethnic cleansing & that infact the Arabs ordered their own population to flee when the Arabs attacked. I used to believe that there was no Palestinian cutlure prior to 1968 and that Israel was justified in occupying the WB, GS and Golan because the Arabs attacked from there and Israel had a right to self defence. I used to believe that the Palestinians were used by Arabs and the left wing western media as tool against the Jews.
But - I always knew the Palestinians had a totally different story of "mass murder and genocide" which I never wanted to believe because I know what violent hatefull Taqiyya-esque culture the Koran promotes.
But my, and many Croatians personal experience of the Jewish community has often been one of hatred of us, our culture and history. So I and many Croatians ask ourselves - if some Jews can be so racist, hatefull and dishonest about us - then maybe they're the same towards the Palestinians ? I`m unsure at times?
Strange thing is, that during WW2, the Serbs too had a Nazi state run by the "Chetnik" nationalists. They too communitted mass murder of Jews and did it so efficiently, that they issued stamps celebrating Serbia becoming the first Jewish-free state in Europe. Serbs today still celebrate the Chetniks because the Chetniks are a bastion of Serb culture. But you never hear of the Jewish community condeming todays Serbs celebrating the Chetniks ? Why is that ? Is it because the Serbs deny they ever did anything wrong while the Croatians openly acknowledge and regret it ? Or is it because there is an underlying hatred of Croatians by some in the Jewish community ?

Andrew Theophanous supported Croatia in the early 1990s after the breakup of Yugoslavia. This annoyed many Serbs. Greece has always been very friendly with the Serbs. After all they share the same Orthodox religion. Many Serbs supported the Greek demonstration in 1994, as did Jeff Kennett, against the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia calling itself Macedonia.
An explanation might be that Andrew Theophanous, the husband of Brimbank Councillor Kathryn Eriksson (and a very good councillor she is too) is a Cypriot Greek and not a Greek Greek and isn't all that well up on Greek history. His support for the Cros sure upset Melbourne Serbs.
