Gravatar fucking game-playing CHILDREN!... what a betrayal of the electorate, and particularly the libs core constituency, that would be. hopefully there are still some grown-ups around somewhere to scotch this

Gravatar There'll be a number of previously neutral people lining up to whack the Libs over the head if they go ahead with this one. They need to consider that what they do could affect upper house preferences in the future.

Gravatar Why would the Libs run

- It costs money
- No chance of winning
- No Upper House voting, therefore no need to fly the flag
- A poor result will reflect poorly on lazy Ted
- Only a really stong result will make the Libs look good - not likely

Gravatar The Libs can kiss the idea of ever winning melbourne ports goodbye if they don't run a candidate here. They should run and run hard. They will look like a bunch of fucking pussies if they pike it. This seat includes Sth Melbourne and Albert Park, It's next to Caulfield, Brighton and Prahran. Are they they fucking shit scared?

Gravatar If they were really smart they would give their ports candidate a run down there. It's Danby's backyard but he spends most of his time on the other side of St Kilda Rd.

Gravatar Interesting, in theory....one problem. Their ports candidate doesn't spend his time anywhere, though, at least not visibly. He'd just look stupid if all of a sudden he turned up in the part of the electorate least likely to support him, all of a sudden everyone's best friend.

That said, he'd probably look stupid on his own. He's got no backing from 104 and instead of doing things off his own back just sits there and whinges about it.

Gravatar Libs must run a candidate in Albert Park and Willy......it must be done as a show of support to the electorate that we dont stand up for this nonsense....

If it was good enough to run a candidate in the 2006 election for AP and Willy...its good enough now!

Gravatar The Albert Park end of the electorate is the area where the libs have most to gain as Danby never goes near it. If you fight him in Caulfield you are playing to his strength.

Gravatar Danby is all over Port Melbourne like a rash. If I see him at another community function, I might have to ask him to move in to my spare bedroom.

I don't think you know what you're talking about, Anon.

Gravatar anon 6.15pm yesterday is a defeatist prick

it is worth standing if there is the remotest chance of a good result - even just a decent swing against the ALP

and it's also just about being serious and responsible - a party for all Victorians, even the class-traitor yuppy scum who live down that way

Gravatar Joshy Frydenburg for Albert Park,

It is probably the only set for which the Kooyong Tennis Champ could win preselection for.

Gravatar If the liberals do not run then an independant has a real chance of winning the seat. No doubts the Greens think they can be in that position but they can not win. IOt needs to be somone with a reasonable high local profile. Dick Gross... maybe.. a disenfected ALP'er/

Gravatar Dick Gross for AP... The fact is a good indepnedent can win the Albert Park Seat. It is easier to won a so called safe seat then a marinal. Look at Wills...

Gravatar Actually a great independent can win either seat! (AP or Willy)

Gravatar There is talk around that the Greens are offering a deal on Port Melb in exchange for a clean shot at Albert.

Gravatar Brian Boyd for Albert Park (lol)

Gravatar Trust me, the Libs are a mess in Albert Park. No local viable candidate. Either someone gets flown in or they might as well not run anyone.

Gravatar Clive Smith - last candidate

Gravatar All these Labor Contributors here are really pissed because you're going to lose the seat. You woudl not be losing the seat if John Thwaites had nto deceived the electorate by quitting only 8 months into the electoral term. Can't blame Big Ted for your own political stupidity!
