Let me get this right - Tabban offers Suleyman money in return for his vote, she reports a suspected crime to police, he repeats the bribe offer on tape and somehow SHE has a case to answer.

He chose to have the criminal case in the County Court because his high priced legal team didn't think his case would wash with a magistrate, but they could create enough confusion to get at least one juror to believe there was reasonable doubt.
He hasn't sued yet, and he won't because it is easy to create reasonable doubt in the mind of one or two members of a jury in a criminal court.
In a civil court he would be judged on the balance of probabilities and found to be what he is - a crook.
