Abcess. They're the worst! If you don't mind a suggestion, you might keep them on towels or blankets for a few days, and be sure to change it every day. I'm glad their tails are looking better already!

Hey Victor, an abcess you say? Wow! I've never had this happen before, and to two rats at a time! Rat has abcesses on her body that we clean out, but they're wayyy different from this mess. Thanks for the suggestion! I think the girls are happy too.

I don't know if you are familiar with tea tree oil, but if you dilute it with olive oil and put a little on thier sores it may make it better and it is a homeopathic remedy. Just a little to see and if it is diluted, then you don't have to worry about them eating eat-like two or three drops of oil to about 13 of olive oil. ~Rat Mom
