Well, your new vet will know more about general anatomy than you (assuming he does have a license). But it would greatly help if he had at least some experience with rats.

Tale, the vet says he specializes in exotics, including rats, so that's why I'm a little bit concerned. She could use some love from Pancho, though.

I hope Sugar will make a speedy recovery. Personally, I would take my rat to another vet next time, for I really have doubts about this one. But indeed it is difficult to find a vet who really knows something about rats. :0$

I think a visit to the second vet wouldn't hurt. I love our main vet (and now, his associate), but we've had occasional appointments with a couple other exotic vets around here. We figure in case of emergency, it's best to have a backup we've actually met.

You know, that's a really good idea. Having a record at both vet's offices could be really beneficial. I think I will do that.
