Oh yay! They look great! They are so much fun to make and such a big hit to people and so yummy! They are definitely time consuming though! I want to do a white chocolate version with yellow cake again when I have the time.

LOL! At least we know we'll be a hit at every party if we take these. Your white chocolate version sounds good! Yay us for trying them

I really love the star sprinkles too- what a great idea! I will have to try that next time! Yeah, one of my co-worker requested the white chocolate ones. So I will do the bases white chocolate- yellow cake and some kind of pretty colored white chocolate for the tops. My fiance also wants to try some. So I am going to make some before I leave for the Philippines in November & pack a plastic container in my suitcase. Since they are candy & it's always freezing in cargo on the plane they should be okay!

I've actually gotten addicted to making chocolates, haha. I keep getting 40% coupons at my craft store & I keep stopping every week to pick up some melting chocolate or molds. I actually want to make some more chocolate covered cherries this weekend. I use the sundae cherries & the mold (that makes the bottom of the cupcake bites.) Then I put a little chocolate in- the cherry & then cover with more chocolate. My mom LOVED them for mother's day.

You're so creative! LOL I'm sure F.B. will love them. I've considered mailing them to my sister, but since they were made on Thurs/Fri, I think I'll do it on a Monday morning and mail them that afternoon. Just so they're extra fresh.
I never thought of the chocolate covered cherries that way. Good idea! You spoil your mom. I did have a ton of melted chocolate left over, so we did chocolate dipped strawberries and I filled in the hollow part of raspberries (an entire carton!) (we ate them as we made them, though, so don't know how they would store). Soooo good. Soooo messy. I would definitely do that again, but the cake bites are more time consuming.
Can't wait to see what other cool creations you come up with.
Oh, btw, noticed you were a big Ebay fan a while ago, and that encouraged me to start Ebaying again. I hold you responsible for my downhill slide! LOL

Also, did you find a squeeze bottle that didn't crack? Both of my Wilton's cracked for some reason, the first time I used them.

Oh I am a HUGE ebay addict. I've got 241 in feedback, lol. And I'm bidding on about 3 items right now. I'm always finding great deals on there, so I look there first before shopping anywhere else. I have to do a few auctions of my own again this summer to make some extra $$$.
Here is my ebay profile: http://myworld.ebay.com/christianchikslc

The raspberries sounds yummy. The strawberries were good too. But the cake bites reminded me of a truffle almost inside. So good. But they really do take alot of time to put together! I forgot to mention- I got a chocolate mold with cats, mice, etc. I was going to do white chocolate "rats" with pink eyes sometime.

Actually, I used a spoon instead of a squeeze bottle. When the chocolate was nice and melty- it seemed to just slide off the spoon.

Thank you so much for your thoughts for Waffles. It does really help me knowing others are aware of her story and what an angel she really is.

Hey Sarah Lynn, I checked your profile out. No kidding! You are the queen! I only have like, 30, feedback but I am looking for some nice wood hangers. I'm upgrading the closets!
Still, I blame you.

OMG! You are so lucky to live in a big city where they have variety...selection...choices. My little town has 1 Michaels (thank goodness for even that), and definitely no cute mice molds or I would have snapped them up. There are hearts and flowers and cordials, tho.
Can't wait to see the chocolate "rats". I may have to check Ebay for a good deal on molds.

Thanks for the info about using a spoon; I think I'll try that next time. I don't want to spring for another two squeeze bottles and have them break on me again. Besides, spoons are way easier to clean.

Stef, you are very welcome. Waffles is an angel, and it hurts so bad to see them age so quickly and get so ill, even when you do everything you can to keep them healthy.
I know you'll miss her terribly, especially with the recent loss of Gerber, but I hope you'll be able to enjoy the time you have left with her.
*hugs*

Yes, I am definitely an ebay queen, haha. The store I have near me is a Michaels and the mice & cat chocolate mold was on clearance. If I see another one sometime- I'll grab one for you, they are too cute! I can't wait to try & make some white "ratties" I think the Wilton's chocolate melts best. I used a Walmart chocolate bark recently & it doesn't melt nearly as well!

OMG! I would absolutely pay for the mold and shipping if you find one and can send it to me. That would rock!
See, I totally agree with you about the chocolate. I tried Candiquik and it was weird. I think I'll stick with the Wilton's too. I think the cheapie stuff is ok if you're just melting a big pot and dunking in pretzels or making haystacks or something, but for the precise molds, you've gotta have something that melts better and stays melted longer.
I am going to make mint-chocolate and peanut butter cups with my molds soon.
Who would have guessed we'd become candy-making fans? LOL

Haha! All thanks to bakerella! I want to make peanut butter cups sometime too! Now I think I'll try making the white chocolate ratties this weekend so I can post them on my blog. When I'm at Michael's I'll see if they have the mice/cat mold. It's made my Wilton's actually. The one I got was on clearance but maybe they will get in some more sometime.

Well, if worse comes to worse I can always check Ebay! LOL
I can't wait to see the ratties. So cute!
I will probably try the peanut butter cups next weekend. This weekend is the holiday, you know, so I'm going to take it easy. Do you guys do anything big for Memorial Day?
I'm afraid, though, if they come out good I am going to find every excuse to keep making them because they are my fave candy. That can't be good for my weight or my cholesterol!
