At first, I read "shoved a fork and carving knife into the nearest hand" to mean that you stabbed the guy's hand. Which, maybe, you did. I wasn't there.

Oh, if you did it Jerry's way, awesome!
Y'all will have fun. Just don't start a forest fire.

Ah, yes. Just when you begin to gloat internally at a turn of phrase you especially like, the realization slams into you like a carving knife into an unwilling hand that you've yet been unclear.
To me, Clarity and Brevity go hand in hand as the two main goals of my writing.
It sure makes me smile that I'm wordy and vague! I delight in such oddities.
I have no idea why I'm writing this comment.

Heh. I remember you telling me that story. It's even better the second time. As you know, I know exactly how you feel.
J. refers to it as "getting stabby." Which, considering the comments up to now, may be more or less appropriate.

Jamie: I love that anecdote, because I've come so so far. I'm a placid lake that remains still during a thunderstorm.

It's Nice to hear that someone stepped up the plate the WEEK of the trip to plan the meals.
My friend from FL and I are headed here http://www.cs.unca.edu/nfsnc/
rec..._campground.htm this weekend. I hope the lake has more water in it than FALLS.
