"Sounds like too much washing or the wrong shampoo," says She Who Chokes if a Bottle of Shampoo costs more than $3.95.
And re; the cop thing: yeah, even if I'm being all legal, if I see a police car in my rear-view mirror, I get all tense and hyperventilate-y.

Yeah...I thought about the "wrong shampoo" concept, except that I use different shampoo/conditioner combos almost daily. I had heard that would help curtail product burnout.
My hair is so so tangly if I don't use conditioner, even if I only wet my hair. And if I condition without shampooing, it's greasy on day one! Detangler (leave in) also makes for grease head.
At least grease-head feels nice and soft, even if you CAN see the brush marks at the roots.

When you use conditioner, do you work it through *all* your hair? For years now I've only applied it to the ends (or, more accurately, everything but the roots). Because the hair near the scalp doesn't need it. That might be creating the grease head...

No roots involved in the condish-ed areas. It's a mystery worthy of a British lesbian caterer dog-walker.

Don't fuck around with The Man in NC when it comes to vehicle fees and taxes. I heard they are really cracking down on people whose inspections are overdue (a fine of $250), so keep an eye on that sticker.

Crikey. My inspection's due this month. And I've got a bad history of letting the paperwork on Beige Thunder go bad.
Maybe the fact that she was carrying a pistol, mace and a billy club helped your tiny cop overcome her fear?

I have a horrid time keeping track of my various car registration expiries, perhaps because in recent years I have (a) bought and sold a half-dozen cars and (b) changed my permanent address twice.
Re: the tiny police lady, am I the only reader here who instantly thought of Police Academy? Huhn? Huhn?!

(the lady with the mouse voice, phil?)
I have to wash my hair every day, or the roots will get oily and the ends will knot together in proto-dreads. seriously. even when I had a perm, I could only go like a day and a half without having to bathe my head.

Hey... try hair powder/powder shampoo, like "Pssst" or the more pricey version by Bumble and Bumble (has a color-enhancing addition to a Pssst-like base). I am a three day on a shampoo kind of girl now, having always been a must-shampoo-every-day kind of girl. Now I love the three day effect. I just got some of the Bumble stuff in "white" b/c I now have a near-platinum Femme Nikita haircut. Love it. The powder really rocks it. My stylist says she uses it once in a while to extend a shampoo. Any way. Sucks about the car mess. Sounds like it's getting under control... xoxo, Ols

Try combing your hair before you wash and not using conditioner at all. Also, fish oil! Since I started taking it, my hair seems a little sturdier and bouncier, so doesn't lay down so flat.
Some of it might be just having fine hair though. 2 days without washing is my max.
I seriously doubt my car is going to pass inspection this year.

Pinky -- mouse-voice is the one.
All -- are their conditioners that would make my moustache and goatee less bristly? I've been wearing the more closely cropped as of late, which makes for a nicer appearance (to my eye, anyway) but harsher texture.

Hey. "Mouse Voice" has a NAME, people -- Marion Ramsey, born on May 10, 1947, in Philadelphia. Besides her portrayal of Cadet (later Sergeant) Laverne Hooks in the "Police Academy" series, you may know her work from that one episode of "MacGyver" or that one episode of "90210."
Of course, she's not to be confused with the other standout "Police Academy" characters, including "Guy Who Makes All The Sound Effects" (Sgt. Larvell Jones, played by Michael Winslow) or "Big Scary Gung-Ho Guy" (Sgt. Eugene Tackleberry, played by the late David Graf).
We must, in our daily lives, not forget the one-joke characters that make movies like the "Police Academy" septet such richly rewarding cinematic experiences. Honor their contributions; never forget their sacrifice.

I really tried not to mention this because it had no bearing on the traffic stop, but the cop actually was very, very butch. As I said, she was tiny and wearing a wedding ring, but she looked like a 14-year-old boy. She was pretty hot.
Of course if I had described her that way, Phil would not have thought about our Marion Ramsey, and therefore less fun comments would have ensued.
