Oooh -- don't give up on knitting!! Stop back by your good yarn store and they will totally help you get going. Don't try anything too complicated. Scarf it. Also, for the future (or now), sometimes they will ball up the skein for you on a fancy-yet-old-fashionedy-wooden ball to skein making thing.
Whatever. It's fun, don't give up! If I can do it, you can do it too!

They do have that thing, Ols, but I wasn't there at the right time to get it done. :-(

See, we are alike. I have never been able to get the hang of knitting, but I love to crochet, the more complicated pattern the better. I was really into crochet lace patterns until my wrists rebeled.
I've been cutting up plastic bags to crochet something, maybe a tote, but all I know is that I want to crochet plastic bags, no matter how hideous the result. I will send a link I found at home if my brain works by the time I get there.

I'm backwards and like to knit but can't figure out crochet. Splitty yarn is pretty but a hard way to start because it's easy to, well, split and tangle and you can't tell what you've done. We'll hook you up on Saturday though
