Why hello to you too!

Definitely turn off the shower except for rinsing. I've started doing this and it's been amazing watching our water bill creep down.

Gravatar We're working with some green builders who incorporate grey water systems in their homes. We like the idea so much that we are toying with the idea of retrofitting things in our home. There's also a plan for a cistern to collect rainwater down the road. Right now we have rain barrels (well worth the cost. You can even construct them yourself!).
I too promise to drink beer to rehydrate, if it will help the cause!!

Gravatar Joyce: i think that kind of shower will indeed make me feel monastic and even more martyrlike. Excellent! There's something really appealing to me about thinking that I'm holier than thou, whoever thou is.

Maggie: just be careful. I was thirsty after coming home from the Teeter just now, and I am now typing under the influence after just 2 beers! It's high test beer. Don't get high test beer to use as water. Or do!

Gravatar I do my best to conserve water YEAR round.. not just when we are in a drought situation. I do however wash my vehicles. I did not pay all that money to have bird shit eat at the clearcoat/paint.

I also have rain barrels for my pond. Saves me from having to treat the water to remove the chloramine.
