Interesting. I was very very excited about Cuba for a while, but less so now.

Re: southern Texas, my friend Josh Rose (perhaps you met him before he and Airlie and small folk left town?) is now looooooving his job as "Bird Program Specialist" at the World Birding Center; http://www.worldbirdingcenter.or.../sites/mission/

I have a hat from there that I would be glad to give you if you'd like it. Most likely I'll be dropping by there in early July, too.

Cuba because when I was reading my Birds of the West Indies book in Sint Maarten, there were a ton of birds that were endemic to(native to and only found in) Cuba.

Does that mean I should actually decide when I'm coming? I thought one of the joys of being unemployed (I MEAN, a stay-at-home-mom) is that you don't have to do that. Geesh!

I'm thinking we'll drive up Mon, June 25, stay with some friends overnight the 25 and 26, and head back the 27. So lunch would be either June 26 or 27. Can you make that work?
