Gravatar I think the flag is a very cute idea. And anyway, it's subtle -- it's not like the whole hat is one huge flag. Also, I think it's different if you're outside of your home country: if you lived elsewhere, you might feel more interested in showing national pride since you'd be in the minority (leaving aside for the moment the complicated nature of that the U.S. flag means worldwide). Anyway, I think you're safe and I think the hat's adorable.

Gravatar Adorable. You know, it would be different with the American flag so don't think about it that way. First, I assume the parents live here and are away from their home country. Second, the Tatar flag does *not* carry the baggage that the American one does.

Gravatar What a great idea! It's a cute pattern eh?

Gravatar That is too cute!

Gravatar Thank you for the baby adjustment tips. I want to knit it for my 10 week old son. I got the pattern as a gift from someone who bought it from Larissa!

Gravatar aaah, that's too cute! Love that green color. I've gotta get back on the baby hat knittin' kick!

Gravatar gorgeous hat! I just bought the meathead pattern after reading about it here and around the blogosphere. I think the hat is perfect with the little flat on it.

I'd never heard of Tatarstan either - so I feel informed now!

Gravatar Way too adorable! Must make one. :D

Gravatar Oh-so-cute!! [Love the flag!]
