I don't think Daniel should have won. I think Korto should have won. I liked all her pieces.
I think it's a shame that Michael Kors' fondness for Daniel was allowed to influence the judges decision. I knew he was going to win when I learned he was one of the designers. I still remember Michael Kors telling him that if he needed a job he would gladly give him one. Michael practically gushed over everything Daniel did. There is no way Korto didn't win the All Star Challenge. The only thing Daniel created that I would wear was the runway dress and do we really think Nicole Kidman would wear it on the runway. Korto is so talented! The restaraunt dress was spectacular! She should have won. I am really disappointed in Project Runway and I am starting to feel that her national origin played a part in the decision. I have always admired Diane Von Furstenburg and was really surprised that Michael was allowed to prevail.
This was no surprise! I knew Korto wasnt going to win even though her collection was better! I would NEVER wear any of those clothes in Daniel's collection. I DONT GET IT!
Daniel was the designer the judges thought had evolved the most. He was smart and made a collection that was cohesive and stood apart from all others. Korto's was beautiful but safe-plus no matter what anyone says about "it's all editing" she is a poor loser. She needs some cheese to go with her whine....
Uhhh... in regards to kccody's comment. I seem to recall an interview with tim gunn that said that they had to rush out daniel after it was proclaimed chloe was the winner because he was making a scene and tim had to have a pep talk with him because his pouting intervened with them continuing the shot and it took them a while to calm him down before they could film a shot of him acting gracious to chloe. Also tim stated that he did not keep his feelings hidden as he proclaimed to everyone, including Chloe that he thought he had a better collection and was the clear winner. Yet none of this made it onto TV and Korto's did. So to say that she was a sore loser is not incorrect but to imply that Daniel would've not acted the same way is ridiculous. I am with Korto's frustration that even though they tell her what they want to see from her and the wax and wain over her collections and then ultimately not give her the win. This is the second time they have done this to her and from her interview from season 5 she said the judges full deliberation was highly in favor of her collection so it was a surprise to both her and korto that she won. I am not surprised if they did the same thing again so obviously her spirits have been broken. would you not have something to say after that. And I do not think it is fair to judge them on how much their design philosophy has grown seeing as Korto only had 2 years since the show whereas daniel has had 6 years. of course his design sense is going to change where as Korto barely had time to evolve. They cleary put in that parameter after he signed on
And Daniel's four pieces are totally different than the Hotel collection he did two years ago?
All I could see was hotel, redux for three of the pieces. And call me a self starter, I know what pipe wrap is and have used it often...on pipes. Had he woven it, it wouldn't be so hideous.
Was the fabric shade cloth?
It was so nice to be privy to Daniel's great personality on Project Runway again. His collection was beautiful, and he is definitely worthy of winning the $100K prize. We look forward to seeing great things from Daniel V.
I don't understand the win. The restaurant dress was ridiculous. I would have put Daniel in the fourth place.
I don't get it!!! I don't even think Daniel was good enough for runner up?!?!?!
most of the time, the judges get the final pick right, they might have some bumps on the way, but they usually get it right, but this onw, they got it WRONGGGG (it reminds me of season one when they gave it to jay instead), i mean come on!!! what is going one?!?!?
am i the only one that saw the monstrosity that was daniel's resturant dress?!?!? i think the judges had a bias, and its not fair!
korto was robbed -- her collection was amazing. I'd wear everything in it. I thought Daniel's collection was horrible. What were the judges thinking? Made me sad for the whole new season....
I did not watch last season and I will not be watching this season. I tried to start watching again with the all star show and was once again disappointed. They will never allow a brown person to win the show even if they are better designers, they have proved it several times. Kara should have won her season and Kotyo should have won her season and the all star show defintely! The judges are a group of idiot racist and it shows in everything they pick. Daniel's designs were hideous and I don't know any woman that would wear that trash. Project Racist will never have me watching again!
The (few, thankfully) people here who are crying racist need to get their eyes checked. Daniel LOST to Chloe (who was an Asian-American immigrant) last time around, and plenty of very diverse designers have done really well on Project Runway. African-Americans are well-represented. Michael won the Fan Favorite in Season 3, Kara Saun and Korto and Michael were all finalists, not to mention other minorities and people of mixed race on the show like Santino, and many of the models, even including winning models (Tia of Season 5 was African-American and she won)!
Not to mention all the gay designers- it's just hard to accuse this show or the people connected with it of being prejudiced, given that record. Facts are facts- and this show is diverse, from beginning to end, and calling the judges racist just doesn't make any sense. Sounds like sour grapes to me, because the person someone wanted didn't win. Well, that happens a lot in reality competitions- the person I want usually doesn't win. Just get over it.
I thought Daniel's collection was edgy though a bit on the simple side. But that has always been his style.
Korto's collection though it was great and wearable, I feel like I've seen some of her pieces before after watching so many seasons.
I loved Chris and Sweet P though, I would've loved it if Chris was in the top 2.
