SWEET NINJA JESUS! THAT LOOKS GREAT! Mmm, the first time i had chocolate and cayenne together was a few months ago at a yoga&chocolate workshop. We had cayenne+Dchocolate and coconut+curry+Mchocolate from Vogues Chocolates. I've been hooked ever since, and now, i'm preheating my oven...

Wow, that cake looks and sounds fantastic! Thank the heavens for vegan anniversaries because they bring to our attention gorgeous Mexican Chocolate Cakes that were somehow overlooked...
My new tradition for Valentine's Day is to make a new chocolate-based recipe. I was having a hard time figuring out what I want to make this year. But NOW I think I've found the recipe! Score! And this year I wanted to learn how to make a great vegan cake (it's good to have some flexibility in the ol' cooking repertoire), so I am very excited about this cake! Can I skip work today so that I can go home and make it now?

Hey, Liz: sorry for the delayed response, but I don't have internet access from Thursday nights through Sunday nights. Anyways, I'm not really sure how many ounces that would be, but I'm pretty certain, as long as you don't have the world's tiniest chocolate bar, that two squares of whatever bar you use would work. At worst, it'll be overly chocolatey...

Hi ! Thanks for getting back to me. The cakes were delicious though not as moist as they could have been because I had to bake two at the same time and only had 8 inch pans, so I had to cook them longer. Next time, I will do it right ! I also doubled the sauce recipe in order to have enough for everyone and used one whole bar of chocolate which turned out perfect. Thanks so much for posting this recipe !! It's really delicious.

That looks HEAVENLY. I wonder if this recipe would work with whole wheat pastry flour.
