Very well said Ventanita!
I read his/her comments last night on .....blog and felt sick to my stomach! I had never even heard of him/her but now I am thinking of going to her reading at Books and Books to tell him/her what a miniscule, self centered excuse for a human being he/she is! Thanks to you and Cuban blogger for trying to set him/her straight!
Josue, in the interest of not promoting him/her further, I've disguised him/her and the Cuban blogger's identity. Thanks for the comments, and please do tell how it goes at Books and Books!

Ventanita, well said. This kind of individual has no soul. They are so wrapped up in their egotistal pursuits that nothing else matters, nothing. Thank you for writing this.
Thank you George. Spouse and I agree with you 100%

Well said.
*VERY* well said.
Some of us Cubans lost a few things, at some point or another, but ALL of us lost our freedom. Yes, even those who remained in Cuba... particularly those who remained in the largest jail in the Caribbean and perhaps the world.
Thus, we Cubans hate --and will *always* hate-- those who took our freedom away.
Scratch a Cuban exile and you'll come to one horror tale after another, and few times those tales involve *things* --while in each and every case, I guarantee you, *their freedom* or that of some loved ones, will come forth.
Why is it so hard to understand that simple concept?
In the case of this particular writer, it may be because he/she didn't undergo any of the trauma. He/She was probably born and raised outside of Cuba, in total freedom, and provided with limitless opportunities to be what he/she wanted to be, and *more significantly* to have *whatever* opinions he/she wishes to have.
For instance, can anyone imagine what would happen to him/her were he/she on the island and he/she dared to compare castro to hitler... or to any other dictator?
Maybe some day he/she will understand how we Cubans in exile feel, though I pray --and will do everything within my power-- to prevent similar circumstances from happening in this, our adopted country.
Abajo fidel!
Julio
Julio, I've edited references to said writer so as not to further promote him/her

Ventanita,
Te la comiste! What venom this author has towards any Cuban who opposes communism and lefty liberal crap! Poor me, he/she did not get any publicity in the Herald, but probably has publicity everywhere else.
He/She has no idea the pain that Cuba and Cubans have suffered. Probably has no idea who Biscet, Farinas, andValledares are?
Anyway his/her father is Fidelista!
Alfredo, like all other comments, gender references to the authors, were edited to be ambiguous. I'm not giving this person further publicity

okay, fair is fair. Where is this blog. Let's have both sides speak. And then we can have fair judgement.
Louis Pagan
Lous, he/she had their chance yesterday as this "spat" was yesterday. My post was before 9pm, to date it is not up, nor will it be.
I will not publish the blog nor the author, as said before, I will not add to their publicity. In any case this post is not about the author; it is about a common misattribution - that Cubans hold a grudge because of lost property.
However, I'm 100% positive you will know who I talk about within the next days, as I know you visit said blog. Once you know who it is, write me and I'll show you both sides of the argument.

That individual must be out of his/her mind. To deny the dictatorship and persecution directed by Castro against any opposition. She/he must live in an alternate world and/or be in complete denial of reallity. To tell the exile that other people don't care about their "stuff" what ? It is outrageous and insulting against the people who died fighting the Kastro regime. He/she is a "distinguished writer" well maybe of science fiction. No human being that has lived in the 20th century can deny the attrocities that Kastro during his reign of terror has commited. Further, the fact that the individual censored your posting shows the kind of person she/he is.

I liked the article very very much.
I dream of Cuba, my family's land in between the Bayamo River and Guama Rivers.
However, but what hurts me most, as most of us do are the lies that support Castro.
I have tried to do something about this on Wikipedia , and I worked by hard, for precision and much detail and importance, patiently correcting "idioteses."
However, all this work was for naught now, especially in the last two days it has been recaptured by the communists.
Read it and you will find that you will would "learn" hitherto unknown "facts" for instance Batista in 1952 was opposed by the Liberal Party. And I had thought the Liberal Party had disappeared 20 years before along with !!! Aei! Aei! La Chambelona El Alcalde de la Habana tiene las tetas de goma!!!!
Going back to in time to causes of the Spanish America War you would learn that the US was outraged by the deaths of mere hundreds, not hundreds of thousands of Cubans. Stupid me I had always thought that the argument was between 200,000 or 400,000 deaths en “La Reconcentraccion”. Well Castro’s father Angel was like his son a good guy and he would never have been involved is such terror.
Seriously, Wikipedia has a right to conduct its business as it wishes. However, when Wikipedia proceeds to distort history others also have a right to know about it. Especially those investors of Google or perhaps Yahoo who seemingly want to incorporate Wikipedia into their business, perhaps because Wikipedia is one of the most cited sources on a given google search and thus a prime place to one day place investments there.
However, it is wise to suggest to students, investors or anybody else you know that Wikipedia is not the wisest choice for research (or investment) on a given topic. Supposedly Wikipedia allows input from all sources.
Now all this is going one step further this cabal of communists is now banning contributors who do not follow a certain ideological concept.
In the Alice in Wonderland of Wikipedia/Cuba “Vandalism” is to have a different view point, and for this you can and will be banned.
take care and be well

Your post was wonderful. I was working on something today and meditating on the words of the blogger you speak of. It was quiet in the room and I was doing a laborious job but those words kept reverberating in my head. I felt that I needed to say something, to write something to this person that is such a self centered being. When I finished I logged on to the computer and saw your post. You've phrased my thoughts more eloquently than I ever could.
In addition to stuff, libery and people, Cubans have lost their country, their fatherland, their birthright. I have only seen Cuba in pictures and could not imagine living in such a beautiful place to have it taken away from me.
Larry, Wikipedia is a waste of time. I denounce it whenever I can. It's the domain of propagandists that have much more time than we do.
Yesterday, when spouse came home from work, I was washing dishes - right after the whole incident. Something was bothering me and I couldn't put my finger on it. But then, right there over the fregadero it hit me....stuff? wtf? It was people not stuff?
When I told my spouse the entire story this morning over coffee, there was no stutter: You have to post this you know. And so I did. I'm glad it reflects your sentiment as well, because that was my goal - to reflect the Cuban sentiment on this issue of why we have strong feelings. I also thought about mocking the bloggers comment with topics of the blogger interest, but that would be rebajarme a su nivel, and my point would get lost.

He/She claims to be Cuban-American but isn't. I read his/her piece and also his/her article about his/her dad's childhhood. His/Her father is a follower of Castro and Che, too.
I believe he/she spent too much time writing about his/her rejection by the Herald. Apparently he/she hasn't matured yet to accept rejection of his/her work by a newspaper. Grow up, dear!!
Alberto, I edited your comment to maintain gender ambiguous.

Excellent essay, sir. You have said it very well, and I suspect people who speak like this fellow are not particularly interested in the details you give because their true focus and interest is in finding a way to defend and support people on the left, no matter how reprehensible and repugnant they may be.
Thank you Christopher and welcome to my site. Hope you enjoy the news and commentaries I offer.
