A Blog For All - Comments - Keep it civil

Gravatar You are "Unthinking". You Repugs are such suckers for whatever The Current Occupant throws at you.

You really think this nation's intel doesn't know that Iran is far from producing weapons? And you really fell for the canard that as soon as they get them they will throw them at Israel and US?

I love watching the polls after the fake terror alerts. Soon all they will need to say is that a suspicious paper bag was found at a bus station in Omaha and all you suckers run crying to your mommies. "Let's invade someone else! This isn't working! Help me momma!"

Cowards like you have enabled the ruination of our country.

Gravatar last I checked Iran hadn't invaded anybody in a 100 years or so, why are we so worried?

Gravatar You had me until I read:

"Memri has translated some Iranian reports."

MEMRI was founded by two retired Mossad operatives and is still funded by Israel, albeit indirectly. It exists to find and publicize enutbag statement by muslim extremists. Failing that, It does artful "translations." VERY artful.

Nothing illegal about that, but one shouldn't cite MEMRI without caveats.

Gravatar Sorry. See:

Gravatar I guess that little outing of Valerie Plame and her front company may have something to do with the lack of one the ground human intelligence in Iran.

How convenient for this administration since it is now ratching up the rhetoric that Iran is a NUCLEAR threat.

*rolling eyes*

Gravatar Gee, isn't it convenient every time the Daou report links to my little site I get the usual suspects coming over to show their utter lack of knowledge.

Roderick: The Plame incident has absolutely nothing to do with the situation with Iran's nuclear intentions. Wilson lied repeatedly about his findings, as a Senate report indicated. The Brits continue to stand by their intel on Iraqi intentions to acquire nuclear materials from Africa.

The lack of humint to do the job around the world can be traced back to the insane rules put in place by Democrats in Congress to limit who the US can work with. Look up the Torricelli rule and the Church Commission for more on how the Left sought to limit our intel gathering abilities through either good intentions (Church commission) or misguided policies - Torch.

madmatt: Last time the Iranians invaded another country was 1979. They invaded the US embassy and took 52 American diplomats and citizens hostage for 440 days. And that's not counting Iran's use of Hizbullah as a proxy army against Israel and destabilizing the situation in Lebanon.

tommo:
Actually, I've been saying for quite some time that the Iranians are just as likely to use those nukes against the Saudis, Iraqis, and Egyptians as the US or Israelis. The Iranians have bones to pick with the Sunni around the world, and if they get nukes, which appears inevitable, they're going to get their chance to inflict payback on Sunnis for centuries of being on the wrong end of the Sunni-Shi'a fight.

You apparently don't think that Iran's potential acquisition of nuclear weapons is a threat? Funny, but Iran says that they're going to use them when they get them. They've stated that they're at war with the West - including the US. Just read through any of the AP, Reuters, and other news reports that note what Ahmadinejad is saying. He's issued a da'wa against the US - submit or pay the price for not submitting to Islam.

As for the rest of your comments, nothing but ad hominem attacks - nice. Thanks for stopping by.

Skip:
Unless you have some other source for translating documents from the Middle East, I'm going to go with MEMRI's translating abilities - and you haven't produced any evidence to suggest that their translation is incorrect.

And that Guardian article relies on Ibrahim Cooper, the head of CAIR and whose members include quite a few folks who have been deported, arrested, or convicted for their support of terrorism/ties to terrroists. And that's just for starters. In fact, just read through MEMRI's response to the article you cite.

Gravatar I'm one of those Daou people that wants to comment on something you said: "The problem is that Iran's intent is quite clear, as is their express purpose to obtaining them for use on Iran's enemies, including Israel and the US." I don't think is so clear. I'm sure Iran knows that if it actually used a nuclear weapon it would be obliterated. Just one of our Trident submarines would leave Iran a smouldering mess. What they really want the nuclear weapons for is political. Members of the nuclear club are treated differently and they want that treatment.

Gravatar Who needs intel, right? Didn't need it for Iraq and everything went according to plan.
