Check out the definition section of the initiative and you find that when they write about human cloning the initiative refers only to efforts “to implant in a uterus” the embryo produced by somatic-cell nuclear transfer in an attempt to initiate a pregnancy. The initiative actually redefines cloning to mean this one act, not the actual act of somatic-cell nuclear transfer.
Thats what all the hub-bub is all about.
It actually protects cloning. Then the combination of the 1st and 2nd sections of the initiative would first privilege and protect the creation of cloned embryos for research, but then mandate the destruction of those same embryos.
It's a terrible, disgusting amendment that needs to go down to defeat.

Michael J. Fox was not endorsing this intiative. His ad is to endorse a candidate. The Heaton/Caviezel (sp?) ad is against the initiative and it not regarding the Democratic candidate. I wouldn't get the two votes confused.
